I busted my rear mech cable gears in NWales. Don't know what to do now, never repaired it but surely it has to be easy job. The problem is where could I buy that long cable as obviously it is some sort special enclosed all the way from shifter to rear mech. Singlespeeding on 28x13 isn't fun at all, the Zesty is wounded.

All -Rad Doode- riding had an effect on the bike, casette went loose - fixed, 1 puncture,1pinch flat, but singlespeeding in Penmachno was a very bad idea. 90% climbs vs 10% trail riding. CYB did take some payment in 3 crashes and multiple mechanicals, at least I survived.

Thanks Cooldad for the linky, need to scrape some cash and revive Zesty now.

Are you coming this weekend? If so I could salvage one off my Marin that would do for the weekend - I have supramans enduro - we could salvage parts off that, and sell other bits to raise some money.

    Working this weekend.

NWales adventures were epic, so many weird and mysterious things happened to us ... itching to join group rides and share the stories. At least DKenny would be there to talk about it. Catching a rolling car on a cliff, being locked out in the restaurant and Apprentice trying breaking into it are just few of them. Never mind Supra's -Dutch oven- stories.

Cooldad, NWales is the right place for you. At £25pppn in B&B you will have to be crazy not to. Even Apprentice was stunned by mysteries down there, what a laugh did we have. He even rode Black graded trails without realising it, obviously was charmed*.

Came back home and my PC packed up again, can't make movies now :( .
Must be NWales black mountains magic.

Correction, never mind the Video of popstar running around in a Pink cape..... very mysterious :?: though I do have pics of that too. DK was the man on the trails this time. he even finished riding trails at night with plaisir with no lights.
actually next challenge for him is on 4 wheels i think....

rolling off a cliff? whos one was it? who wants to change car so badly?

Reading between the lines I don't actually think he 'rode' down it. I think the missing word might be 'crashed'

I've had a bit of a shouty rant at the bike shop today. Fingers crossed for a Saturday arrival now (means Friday is clear for CoD play at least). If it doesn't turn up I'll have no bike to ride tho as the Trance is prob sold and the HT doesn't have a seatpost until the new bike turns up :P

My one trip to CYB back in Aug was awesome, loved it, cant wait to get back up there. (Time to start organising an early 2011 weekender?...) Recommend a walk up Snowdon and a cheeky visit to Port Meirion too (if you're into that kind of thing) while your nearby.

Love to join in this muddy wknd but after just 30 mins on the bike last Sun morning the hand/finger pain that started at Afan in Sept has returned with a killer agonising vengence. A trip to the Doc is on the cards. Not happy.

On a positive note I've ordered Lifecycles on Blu-ray, looking forward to firing that baby up.

That trip sounds epic, and sure beats Science GCSE's.

Definitely out next Sunday with new forks, and Richard even kind of approves

May end up investing in some lights when I sell the Talas's, or save it for when something else decides to die.

    But for now 10am somewhere?
    Walking Bottom?
Easiest for me but if anyone has any preferences I'm easy.

If you buy lights have a look at the niterider range , they work well and are not overly expensive, i have the mini newt ( as my helmet light ) but you could probably get away with this as a bar light as well ( depends on what decide and can afford) or even buy 2 and have one on the hat one on the bar.!!!

  • gents if you liked Nwales you will probably want to move and live to scotland , its even better ...... Glentress, inners, laggan, mabie, Ae , dalbeattie, fort william etc etc.
Simply best riding at a trail centre i have done and Downhill at 3 of these venues with uplifts some weekends.

If you do go back to north wales check out llandegla,Machllyneth, marin trail they are all good fun as well.

Think I have one of those. Thel33ter could confirm - what are the sizes on the Marin and Kona? Think those are 27.2.

Lazy bugger. You could get, what, 2-3 runs in on the DH over the day if you ride up.

As for me, if I'm riding, I'll need to borrow a seatpost and will be on the HT so it'll be even slower down hills than normal. Well, thats assuming the Trance goes tonight, if not, I might just get it dirty.
