Brilliant ride on Sunday, cheers to all. Was good to get out again although judging from the graze on my face and arm I need to get over my fascination with trees. Probably out of the game again until the exams are over at the end of the month but will see how the revision goes.

    Keep on riding!

That's revenge because you p*ss on them.
Was a good ride but after you left they dragged me up to Barry's, then 'seeing as we were almost there anyway' up to Yogpots as well.

Study hard - I'm sure it's best you take a break sometime or your brain will turn to mush, so suggest you come out anyway.

  • Short notice - Nightride 1900hrs Caesars Camp tonight. Doing the forest muddy single track side first and then maybe finish off on the rollecoaster, which is currently full of wet leaf crash factors.

Oh and you might get to see some of Captain America being filmed if we are lucky. :)

  • Thanks for the welcomes and the replies.

Its looking like we be heading up this coming Sunday, we're aim to do our usual fig.8 starting from Coldharbour, but if anything gets arranged on here by any of you guys for Sunday and you dont mind us joining you then we'd loved to try some new routes and meet some new peeps!

There'll probably be about 4 of us this time around, we consider ourselves advanced intermediates and are happy to ride at whatever pace is set and the more sociable the better.

So if not Sunday hope to meet some of you soon up on the SH's/ND's.

    Cheers,

    Shaun
  • In theory we should be out this weekend so keep an eye on the Forum.

Always a sociable riding pace always set by the slowest on the ride . the group varies from beginner to intermediates, trail rider to downhillers, always a good mix

The trails are all fairly technical though so distance normally made up for by the quality of route.

also if not able pm me as i live in the area and can often do weedays as well

Must get lights. Need a tame night ride to get me started though. Maybe in a few weeks if pressure is off at work and I'm not finishing so late.

Definitely! After "Knarl" or "Gnarl", the food at that place is excellent! So good, we went back. Couldn't make it a third as Dolgellau seems to shut down after the weekend.
Mbr trails are well worth it compared to what many people say. only issue they are too short... basically you start pushing and getting a good rythm..getting air or ridiculous slides through corner ( not to metinon crashes or foot dabs) then its already over.
Dragons Back & MBR are my favourites definitely. Think I've learnt a few things there and enjoyed the rock gardens.

Tarw was done on Monday. Also good. Yes there's fireroads involved in the climbs, but the descents are still good. Some rock, some not.

Penmachno on the Tuesday. It sucks. Don't bother with it. Okay the weather was windy and cold, but frankly it's 90% climbs on fireroads and 10% singletrack and only the last sections of singletrack are where it becomes enjoyable. I did have a blast down those bits (and near crashes with Popstar on my heels yelling at me to go faster :D), but it's really not worth going all the way there, and definitely not worth doing the whole loop. One for the XC climbing whippets who enjoy fireroads.

To get started on the weekend - I'm up for Sunday.
Poor thel33ter has a parade, so will be marching - hope it's not raining.
Easy on when and where, but preferably not too early.

    Who else?

Depends on bike situation. Not going to clean the Trance again (in any case, it'll prob be gone by then) so unless I get the new bike, am going to road ride near home. Should have the new one by Friday tho.

    Magura Wotan

Got it, but only a few brownie points cause it was your second guess  Got em mainly cause they were £250 less than the bottom end equivalent Float, and £150 less than a bottom end Lyrik, 1 year service intervals, and two year guarantee... Plus they look cool.

Ah , just seen the severe weather warning on the news , you might be trading those speedos in for a wet suit & wellies !

Edit , different weather forecasters are conflicting , so who knows !

Well, if they can forecast severe weather in North Wales, as they did on Monday, and then turn out to be a fine day, then anything can happen. In fact if it's a fine day in Wales in November full stop, something strange is up with our weather!

Anyway, Metcheck says blazing sun and 11C on Sunday.

(but then this is the site that sometimes predicts the apocalypse with 400mph winds!).

Wales makes people go crazy. Popstar tells Plaisir to ride that stream, so off he goes.

There is a mystery to that photo ... CYB mystery.
    What could have been (Video)

I'll choose not put too much stake into someone's opinion who is admittingly terrible though
  • That was some proper riding.... its the Canadian style roll through the moss and logs and stream to find a short cut.... that is a skill booster

I ll put some where we repair jacks Marin, once again... seems to always need tweaks and repairs.

  • I think when I get my next student loan I'll dedicate a bit of cash to tools so I can do bike jobs on my own because it can't be that hard and I hate having to leave things broken because I don't know how / cba to fix them. + I love that photo. Epic CYB Wales stream riding ftw!
