    Hi Fully

Keep an eye on here. Fairly sure something will be arranged. I can only make Sunday, we'll probably start around 10, probably from Peaslake. My sense of direction is useless, and I'm normally just following the person in front, so would be good to have someone useful along as well.

@Richard - looks like the most of the others are still trying to organise their Wales/Scotland trip, (the words brewery, organise, piss up and couldn't come to mind) but sure we can get a few together if they do get it right.

@the rest - who's up for this weekend, when and where?

Cheers Cooldad, Sunday is probably better for me anyway tbh. I'll keep an eye out on here. And i like the sound of a 10 am start too, there's far too much of this sparrows fart o'clock going on at weekends.

Should be but there's a couple of variables around work. I've not turned a wheel for close to a month so not too excited about a hard ride though ;)

    Hi Atz
No problem, Richard rides are always like a gentle pootle in the park anyway.
    Hope you can make it.

Was cool to see some of the forum regulars at Surrey Hills yesterday! What a coincidence. I would not have known it was you but I recognised pieman there :) I poo'd myself at the big roll over in barry knows best as usual but still did ride it :). Had an excellent day and was knackered at the end of it. Had two offs (one over the bars) and everything is hurting today lol. Unlike you guys though I was not jumping! I was simply riding along and the road swallowed me up :). One was on telegraph road...

Anyway, I definitely plan to join you one of these weekends now i know you are not aliens and stuff :). Also very glad to have met cooldad as I now know I won't be the only mature rider there :). Some of you didn't look old enough to drive but everyone starts to look like at as you approach 40 :)

If you are worried about aliens good thing popstar wasn't there.

And approaching 40 would be nice - everyone looks like a baby to me.

Please can you all look at the following and please vote for the leith hill project plus get all of your mates involved, for a change i really do not care where you put this on the web !!!

You need to zoom in on the map to the mark near Cranleigh to find the project

MTB Project looking for your votes.
Etherly Farm is a MTB friendly campsite at the foot of Leith Hill. The National Trust are bidding for a grant through the 'Bovril Outdoor revival' scheme to help build a dedicated skills trail on site. The grant will be part of a wider MTB initiative at the site which will include a new 1.5 mile single-track descent to the site from Leith hill, showers, bike washes and many of the other facilities that are not on offer within the Surrey Hills. Back the bid (and the NT's progressive attitude to MTB) by registering your vote for 'Leith Hill' at the Bovril Outdoor Revival site. Spread the word through your social networking sites, twitter etc and help get this project of off the ground.

    Happy voting:D

    Voted :).

And on that kind of topic, the last Friends of Hurtwood newsletter (I decided to donate!) mentions that they are asking for donations as they are considering the possibility that grants from the council may dry up, which means a decrease in money. The concern I'd have is that they might decide that mountain biking is too costly to support in an open form on the Hurtwood lands and close it off. Though I don't know how much they spend on it. They have been asking members if they'd like further mountain bike trails (I said yes).

Anyway, if you feel generous: http://www.friendsofthehurtwood.co.uk :D

Have seen they've been sticking leaflets on cars trying to raise funds also.

Voted on BOVRIL MTB skillz course trail (Leith Hill)l. Think Naveed is the KING of social networking sites, as he is PRO at trolling when he wants. Didn't see the man for some time.

There is some talk of Dubcat booking a course with Jedi, not sure how it will work out but think we will see new Dubcat in berserkerz mode soon. Or, at least I would have another -Allien- to talk to in the language even the most impressive fashionista Cooldad doesn't understand. Amen.

Did it a while ago, just joined with a modest donation from what I remember. Then they email you the newsletters. I can't seem to log into the site though for some reason, and yeah the forum is pretty rubbish. They had an older system which had a MTB thread going on there apparently.

I couldn't log on neither until I found the email link they sent me to activate the account.
And now as an official 'Friend of the Hurtwood' I will feel entitled every time I ride there. I might make a badge and get a horn to chase the hoi polloi out of the way while I am riding.
