Remember - clocks go back this weekend (Sunday 2am). Though don't worry if you forget, you'll be an hour early :D

Don't tell Popstar and he might even be on time.

The Only Way is Essex has rather confirmed my lack of wisk to travel to that part of the world. Even if it had the best world cup singletrack in the world.

Just light drizzle here, but looks like the ground isn't going to dry out. Slippery roots and lots of wet leaves about.
  • Hi,
Just found out this forum and as I leave about 5 miles from The LookOut parking and ride there about 2 to 3 tomes a week. I thought thaat I should introduce myself and maybe join you in one of your rides there.
I know the place fairly well but I still discover new tracks and new routes to join them in a fluid and balance way almost every time I go out
Some of you might have seen me there. I am pretty east to spot as I usually (almost always to be honest) have my Damatian bitch in tow...
Anyways, feel free to send me a pm or email next time you go out and I will try to join in

Rather damp ride today, some fun new trails, and plenty of nice muddy drifting :D

    Hi,

    Frederic

    :D

Oh would this be another french man??

Otherwise yes I agree, pretty drifty, manged to catch loads of slides on the bike, and Had first proper crash with the dune... Now its been baptised.

there some seriously good trails, but would need decent mud tires, or stick on the minnions .

huge Take off from thel33ter it was beautiful and impressive... he finished in a tree like me actually....

And in true youthful fashion, got up and shrugged it off. I'd be moaning and groaning and playing drama queen about some injury :D... but then I did the chicken run anyway, as I did all day.

Was cool to see some of the forum regulars at Surrey Hills yesterday! What a coincidence. I would not have known it was you but I recognised pieman there :) I poo'd myself at the big roll over in barry knows best as usual but still did ride it :). Had an excellent day and was knackered at the end of it. Had two offs (one over the bars) and everything is hurting today lol. Unlike you guys though I was not jumping! I was simply riding along and the road swallowed me up :). One was on telegraph road...

Anyway, I definitely plan to join you one of these weekends now i know you are not aliens and stuff :). Also very glad to have met cooldad as I now know I won't be the only mature rider there :). Some of you didn't look old enough to drive but everyone starts to look like at as you approach 40 :)

Dont worry not all of us went jumping, alot of us did slide out of corners, others drift ( when the skill suddenly appears), so me of us went down rollins on our backsides.

Hi everyone! I had a great time riding with you on Sunday! A bit wet but everything has already dried off.

I made it back OK and on time (i will live to ride again!). Thanks for the directions back to the parking lot...they were easy, but the ride along the A25 is not advisable! How do roadies do it!?!

Looking forward to the next ride!

BTW....did anyone else get the warning letter under the wipers?

Speaking of the A25 - I am pretty sure I passed Pieman furiously peddling up a hill in quite heavy rain on my way home. I so didn't envy him but then i remembered he lives only 10 mins away and i did envy him for that! :)

What did the warning letter say? I parked up on the top of the hill so did not get one.

Nice to meet you too :)

  • As always another fun day out.
Thought the best bit was 4 different versions of the jump on the new trail.
1 pull up with not enough speed, 1 too slow and top heavy and staright through the following berm, 1 too quick and then total wipe out and then my roll as not even sure the wheels left the ground together but made it to the berm and then just used the berm to throw mysel to the ground.
Just goes to show how much fun can be had even on a crappy wet day!
Not sure if going to be around for the next couple of weeks but will keep my eye out and see what I miss.
catch up with you all soon.
    Cheers

Was that up by the Church? I spotted a guy having words with people parking there that weren't there for the church so I looked for another place to park. Wasn't many places, but found a spot in a side street.

Ben you know that road you cycle up to get up to Barrys? Just drive up there and you will find a couple of car parks...

We were parked over in Westcott as we started off doing Ranmore for a change. Not so much parking round there. Not sure where Ben was parked though.

Peaslake the best is usually Walking Bottom car park, although the last couple of weeks it's been jam packed. Surprised as it's not been as busy all year. The village centre was packed at lunch too. Maybe more people like to get out in the rain!

Hello all, i've been pointed in the direction of this thread for Surrey Hills rides 8) .

Is anyone about this coming weekend? I have ridden there a couple of times before, and have ridden the usual Summer Lightning, BKB, Telegraph Road, etc. But it's been a long time and i really wouldn't have a clue how to find any of them again.

Not overly fussed on whether it's Saturday or Sunday, i just need to get out on the bike again before going back to Germany.

    Cheers
