Whoa, where's that? It looks like something I've glimpsed from the A40 around Hillingdon way. Tell me more!

It's between Hayes and West Drayton. There's actually another BMX track in West Drayton by Mulberry Parade too

    Made perfect sense to me.
As much sense as he ever makes anyway.

One day in the far future everyone will talk like that. Shortly before we revert to primeval sludge.

Yes Cooldad, I engage in XC by riding to the BMX track instead of driving my luxurious horseless carriage to the aforementioned radical riding spot!

Hope that helps. I mean, I think that's what he said but frankly it could equally have been a recipe for guacamole or some sort of advanced philosophical statement.
  • Got a facebook update from MBSurreyHills ‘In spite of prolonged rain trail conditions in the Surrey Hills remain firm with only sparse patches of mud and occasional puddles. Many of the quieter singletracks remain fast and flowing’.

The current weather for Surrey Hills on Saturday is sunshine and showers and sunny on Sunday.

So where are people riding this weekend? ;)

@Atz - We'll be up for Saturday, Cooldad likes the sound of a slow ride.

@The Priory, Sunday sounds good for Surrey Hills if you wanna go there, any particular time or place?

  • Never been. I would like the tour of the good bits if your willing. The more Black type runs the better if they exist that is.
Place - you tell me? Time something 10am/11am-ish so i can be lazy and have a fry up.

Sounds fine around 10/11 - Sunday is my bacon day. Finalise a time once anyone else who wants to come has posted.

Surrey Hills is always my preference. Closer to me (at least Peaslake is) and gnarlier. Get more exercise out of it too.

If you're up there this weekend you might see the Wings & Wheels air show off in the distance at the Top Gear track, at least from the viewing points. Considering going to it anyway, though it's time off the bike http://www.wingsandwheels.net/

Bank holiday weekend so extra day. Also means it'll probably rain.

Might do SH Sunday morning but if I do I'll prob meet people there and get out earlier. Swinley is prob around 11 and as these are non-cyclists it's not going to be pacey nor technical.

Gnarly and down (and maybe some jumps if you're into that stuff) -> Winterfold for bits, Ranmore, Redlands and Leith for others.

Winterfold is best to start from Peaslake. Can hook up Pitch on the return for a few little regular trails (I know some don't like Pitch ;) ), lunch in Peaslake, then Holmbury for the tourist trails.

Or for the others, Westcott start to Ranmore, but it may be nasty there given the rain (clay soil). Leith and Redlands can start anywhere round Leith basically.

Or go for an epic in which case start anywhere and do the whole lot :D

Atz didn't do BMX track as got knackered from sleep deprivation, you know ... some nights go a bit hard in my case. Barely managing to commute to work, so hitting doubles on -Donkey- at full speed may lead to big dramazzz. Preffer to take my -Lucious- there instead.

p.s. Donkey - wife's bike, and Lucious also known as Mr TuTu - Zesty.

    Welcome to Popstar world! :D

Whole lot. Whole lot. Whole lot. Whole lot. Whole lot....

Depends on what the others would like i suppose. What say the others?....

Also. I got three friends who'd like to tag along. All experienced bikers who like me ride Swinley amongst others a lot so wont have to babysit.

DK's route makes sense - Winterfold, Pitch, Holmbury.
If you still have any energy left after that we can see. With the rain it will probably be tough going.

Meet Walking Bottom car park 11 Sunday.

(Find Walking Bottom - it's a road by the way, just up from Pedal and Spoke, car park is a few hundred metres up.)

@the priory - have sent you my phone no in case you get lost etc
