I recall some discussion that suggested the same Mr Cooldad. So, Peaslake or somewhere new on Sunday?

Okay, Saturday can do after 10 if I get the cassette fitted quick (or can be bothered to do it now, given I've had a few beers), or better after 12 @ Swinley or somewhere similar.

Sunday any time, though 1.30 doesn't allow so much time, though if we spend less time chatting we'd have more time riding before it gets dark. Probably best to stick to Pitch/Winterfold rather than making an epic trek to Leith as well.

@DK how about something after 12 (1-1.30 ish) Swinley on Saturday.
Not sure Sunday - thel33ter is arranging something with one of his friends but not sure what. Or if it will happen.

Not sure with tomorrow. Feeling a lazy day coming on. If I do get out it wouldn't be early anyway.

Nice relaxed Swinley ride today. Cooldad doing a nice crash doing no good to his already bust up arm, but not dazed and confused this time. Surprisingly dry.

New cassette was the solution to the skipping chain. Old cassette had fairly sharp pointy bits. Changed the ratio too and got more climbing ability in the middle ring now, so even less granny ring use. Almost could go single at the front now.

Well I'll occupy myself somewhere then. Might even do Swinley, but peaslake more likely.

Buckaroo, once you ride with your mate make sure you smoke him down on trails proper style. Labirynth is highly recommended for that.

Atz, Supraman when do you lot go to Jedi? Would like to know when will have to put sun shades in order not to be blinded by awesomness. In all seriousness can't wait to see your transformation. I must witness your transformed riding with camera ... it took me 2 months more or less to dial into it. Amazin.

It's certainly not if, but when. Probably after ski trip Feb/March though (think he's booked up until March anyway).

Swinley pretty good yesterday, reasonably dry except for a few puddles, including one that looked a few inches deep, but was actually about hub level and full of slimy mud. Fortunately my early warning system (DK) hit it first.
Off was one of those stupid ones - little knarly drop off on atz's alpine bit. Shoulder had been fine except for twinges when jerked, so decided to walk it, then at the last minute decided to ride it but had no speed. Slo mo over the bars, followed by styley commando roll onto battered shoulder.
So just sitting around today moaning quietly, hopefully will be good for more sympathy and chocolate at work tomorrow. Thel33ter is useless at sympathy, so banished him to Tunnel Hill for the day.

very good ride today in peas lake, only arrived at mid day.
went down BKB 6 times working on picking lines through roots and racing with other random guys. good fun on yogurt pots with 110 mm of travel felta lot faster than with 160. something to play with in future.

played on a great rooty trail that ross took every one up last time we rode... that one is really a blast and tecky going down.

and tried a tail whip.... hmm that did nt go to well , really sketchy landing through mud.

shame no one was out, trails were dry and fast.

Good fun in Tunnel Hill today too, 3-4 hours pretty much non stop, apart from bending one of the guys wheels back into shape, and him crashing a further 5 times

Found a nicely built 4-5 foot drop, cleared it easy.

But they've killed the seesaw  there are still three bridges, but the seesaw, and the other few northshorey bits are gone.

@Supra - I need/want to find somewhere to practice whips and stuff, The jump gulley in Swinley would be ok, but it's been too wet to get speed easily recently.

Thel33ter, Leith hill is your place.

Hope by the time I have weekend off, all warriors went through Jedi ranks so we could organise something special.

With my pay rise due in not so distant future hope to change my bike too.

Not surprised. Some army group built it with permission I believe, but on the understanding few would use it. I guess to avoid risk to the MoD. Now it's fairly well known, so guess they decided it has to go.

Also the MoD seems to be taking a bit of an anti-bike stance now when they've been fairly tolerant to cyclists on public access MoD land for some time.

    http://www.singletrackworld.com/2011/01 ... ew-threat/

Shame, but I think most northshore is going to be ever more limited to private land on pay to use basis (for insurance), and the odd bit in trail centres if the risk isn't too great.
