Whats the fuss about - the saddles aren't much more elsewhere anyway! Most places have 'em for well under £100.

Cheapest I've seen is £80, so £30 seems a good saving to me.

Fitted the bar and stem tonight.

Loverly on the tops and drops but I'm not a huge fan of having the slope to the hoods.

    It looks utterly amazing though!!

The old bars I had were os but they taper down just past the stem either side and were thinner than the 26mm Zipps. OS doesn't always mean the bars are thicker for the length of the entire bars. (I hope that makes sense?)

the only OS bit is the clamp area. If they were 31.6 all the way through, you wouldn't be able to get the levers on and your bar tape wouldn't reach as far....

Re measurements - not quite sure where the meaurment is taken from, I thought bars were measured at the ends, mine, 44cms, measure less than that, closer to 43cm and matching against my Deda 215s they are narrower. Well pleased with them, lovely stuff.
  • @softlad, that was kind of the point I was trying to make. I'm not that bothered about clamp size (not one to follow fashion), rather have the quality at a discounted price.
@redddraggon, it should arrive tomorrow, I'll have to see if it can be rubbed off. Not bothered though, my arse will cover it lol.

  • Aaagghh! I was smug in the fact I wasn't spending money as I needed a 110mm stem and 42cm bar-and now you go and point out that they've reduced the prices on these!!!!

I'll be putting my order in tomorrow.

What delivery times did you lot get on them?
Ordered mine yesterday, but there was no hint I could see as to when they'd be delivered.

bugger you lot, you have now forced me to spend money, the excuse for my wife is that the road buzz through the inferior alloy ones could lead to RSA and therefore less time to do the DIY

Now, what bar tape should i buy? 8)
  • Enigma bar tape looks quite nice.

First ride outside with them today.

Very impressed but no better than my Carbon FSA combo. (Although the Zipps were a hell of a lot cheaper!!)

A bloody good buy I feel!

In what way did you expect/hope they would be better? I'm just curiouse cos to me a handlebar and stem is a handlebar and stem! :D

I'm very tempted by a pair of these for my Pro Carbon SL now. It currently has a Planet-X stem and some FSA bars, which according to the Planet-X site weigh in at 425g total. The Zipp stem is actually heavier than their aluminium stem according to their site, so the Zipp set up would be 330g. £100 for a 95g saving seems a lot.

Are the carbon bars significantly better/different to ride on? They do look the business in the pics. Anybody got pics of them on their bike yet?

I didn't. The FSA Carbon stuff is on another bike, the Zipp bar and stem was replacing alloy bar and stem...

The carbon is more comfortable than the alloy, defo.

    Clip compatible - No

Sorry, dumb ass question - is this meaning it can;t take on clip on aero bars, or something else?

I'm rather tempted, seeing as they now have the offer on the shorter stem and narrower bars.

P.S I too would very much like to see pics of them fitted :D
