redddraggon wrote:I saw these yesterday. If the bars had been available in 40cm width I would have jumped at them.
If the stem had been oversize too I would have just bought a stem, but alas a 26mm stem was unlikely to be much use unless I'd have been able to get the bars to match.
Really want some of the bars but skint at the mo...0 -
Sod it.
Just bought bars and stem.
Freakin' bargain!
Don't know which bike to put them on though!!
Probably the Litespeed...0 -
Just bought the stem ..
conversation at home will go something like ....
" hi hon.....look at this really interesting Xmas tree bauble that Planetx have sent out.....aren't they nice and festive ?...only right I should give a small donation to the warehouse beer fund....cough cough ....."
or...the 25th....
"....er ...happy Xmas ....What is it? ...its ...er.....a carbon shoe horn for those Jimmy Choo Shoes I promised you and was somehow unable to afford...damn this recession !!! "
Good job they have sold out of other stuff otherwise it was going to be cat for Xmas lunch!0 -
oh dear............
found the bars...
anybody got a spare room for Xmas ? :?
bought them both, to good to leave really. I currently have OS bars on the bike ...but for a bargain I will get used to skinny bars again!0 -
I just have to keep my fingers crossed that they arrive when she's at work.
Although a NapD trick is to say 'Don't Open them!!!!' pretending it may be a christmas gift for MrsNapD, then buy her something that is in a similar sized package.
It has worked numerous times....0 -

Now thats what I call an answer!
Like I said, I prefer OS but for that price I will get used to the 26 and just have to have a weird moment when I go fom bike to bike0 -
What about going for 26 and double layering bar tape, you get extra comfort and will make the bar feel a little thicker? Please tell me this is stupid, I don't need a new bar and stem, but much cheapness!0

-
That doesn't sound so bad then, I notice the bar is aero flattened along the top, should make fore a bit more comfort. Any other downsides from 26mm versus OS? All my other bars have been OS.0
-
Ah bolleaux to it, too cheap to refuse - ordered! Damn you d4mi4nr
Still, could always ebay them if they're not suitable, probably make a profit!
Cheers.0 -
What you chaps need is what Primera of Bournemouth describe as a 'wife receipt'
Apparently they've issued them numerous times to avoid marital strife caused by carbon purchases...Mens agitat molem0 -

The Zipp stem is almost exactly the same as the Bontrager XXX-Lite stem. They look ultra-cool. Only drawback is it's hard to mount computers on them because they taper so much.
The bars are also similar to the Bonty Race X-Lite flat bars I have.
All-in-all - a MASSIVE bargain at £100. My set-up cost close to double that.0 -
jesus guys, I wasn't going to buy anything and now I have bought items in the basket, details entered and just seconds away of clicking buy buy buyyyyyyx-x-x-x-x-x-x-x

Mine are FSA wing bars..so they will feel odd after them...but hey ho0 -
They look the dogs bollox. The bars are not round, they are wing type, put em on today. For £100 you cant go wrong, if you dont like em wait a few weeks till they sell out and stick em on here for sale lol.Specialized Allez 20100

First posting on here-so hi!!
This looks too good to be true-but as I'm a novice can anyone confirm if I would be able to put clip on tri bars onto thse bars (I have grand ideas of doing a Ironman next year)? Never used wing type bars before.0 -
Prob not re tri-bars, check Zipp website.0
-
No, they're not clip on compatible, pretty sure it says as much on the Planet X site somewhere.0
