Bit further west than you had in mind but this is a lovely spot and my friends Carl and Ivy will look after you well. They'll help you out with some routes and are all about biking so will sort you out and you'll have no problems.

Looks good, and at the risk of another earbashing from Jash, MTB trails, wooohoooo :lol::lol::lol::lol: looks like the Troy Lee and teh body armour could get packed after all :lol::lol:

Not sure it will accommodate enough people though

pack it any way the beacons offers some fairly good riding and other close areas. i'm unlikely to take the MTB but i'll surely point you off in the right places.

Cost would be £1700 so £106 if everyone made it. I'm not suggesting we stay for the whole week but we'll have to pay for a week. Thoughts?

I need to be in the Peak District for a race on the 16th, but am free the weekend before that, so those dates could work for me...

Pencil me in, although if not everyone comes (which, let's face it, is very likely) I wouldn't like to pay too much more than that, as I've already got two small breaks planned this year...

I am booked for Cornwall that week, and the week before, so not going to work for me sadly.

Next year we need to start planning early.... :)

Will try and make it, but will only be for a Saturday ride and I'll be staying with my mother. Will start building the necessary brownie points. :)

Hmmm...I suspect we may need to look for a smaller place. As TN said, I couldn't pay much more than that. If it's only for a couple of nights, a hotel would quickly get to be the cheaper option (but obviously defeats the purpose).

Maybe we need to go back to looking at cottages, and people can bring sleeping bags if they don't want to share beds. If we can get a 3/4 bed cottage, that would sleep presumably a dozen or so - it looks like we'd struggle to get that many anyway.

Or it it just a lovely idea that won't happen :(

:D:D Hmmm, I have friends with skiing appartments in Les Arcs, which might be available off peak. Garnering the required number of brownie points... another matter altogether.

+1, count me in, but I wouldn't want to pay too much more if people dropped out

You know, if enough of you are okay with tenting, and you can be sensible about the morning shower rota, you just have to rent a cottage with a decent garden. 8)

In fact, you can lock the bikes up in the house every night, and ALL camp!

This place have also got back to me:

    http://www.joeslodge.co.uk/rates.html

Free every weekend except the 28th.

    Rates are:

£500 for a two night weekend (access from 3 pm Friday 'til noon on Sunday).
£600 for a three night weekend (bank holidays, festival periods, 3pm Friday 'til noon on Monday)
£900 per week (Week long bookings normally run from Friday 3pm to Friday 10am)

Not as nice looking but much cheaper!

How about 7th - 14th or 14th - 21st or simply a long weekend? I could ask to see how much an extra day would cost - so Friday to Tuesday.

Looks good to me - I would have though staying Friday -Sunday/Monday would probably be enough, given the general comments about people's availability?

I like the look of the girls bunkrooms...;)

Joe's have come back to me, looks like we could have the lodge for 4 nights for £200 per night so £900. That seems excellent value and the lodge seems well located.

Can I get an idea of numbers/avail (pref) for both dates this week please, then I can get it booked!

I'm suggesting we arrive Friday, leave Tuesday. That way we can ride Sat, Sun, Mon.

    EDIT DATES:
    Name.......14 - 18th.......21 - 25
    James......yes.............yes

    EDIT - it's £200 a night - so £800 all in!

Sorry it's monday and my brain hurts.
