Unforntunately I won't be able to make the 18th.

Please accept my apologies. I have a Stag-do to attend and SkinDread to listen to....

I cannot believe 4 seperate stag-do's in one year and only one of my friends has the testicular fortitude to go to a strip club... the shame

I don't see the point of strip clubs... just seem like an expensive exercise in frustration!

    Anyway, OT I know!

    We're talking 18 July right?

I live close so if I don't have to leave in the Morning then I may put an hour in at Richmond Park so you can point and laugh at me and tell me how wrong you think I am about everything..... lol

    But I promise nothing...

Unfortunately, due to a sportive the next day, I am going to pass on this one - shame as I would really like to go for a friendly lap around RP and top it off with a few beers.

edited so it actually made sense

That sounds like a challenge to me sir, consider it duly taken, and get ready to don your dueling gloves for the three lap challenge

    Relative newbies welcome?

I'm half tempted to show up, although I'd be biking a fair distance down, so any potential races might see me floundering a bit :)

Absolutely everyone welcome! No racing necessary. You don't even have to ride around the park if you don't want to, just come for the beery bit!

The FB group is in my sig, the drinks event page should be on there :-)

    NO!

This just emphasizes the stereotypical image of a country bumpkin being stupid. Did you get somebody else to work the computer for you
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

Argh! Had a small clash of booking now........I've agreed to take the kids to see Monsters vs Aliens as it's playing on the Vue Kids Club that day (well actually I'm going to watch it and taking a kid along so I can get in for £1.70!), this should earn me some brownie points and then I'll ride down after the movie has finished and I'm changed etc.

Movie starts around 10:30 so I reckon I won't be there until early afternoon now :-(

    So, it's getting closer...

I went on a cycling reccy with an excellent cycle guide last wednesday, and we had some beer and a good old chin-wag at the Roebuck.

I can confirm that it's a lovely location, and there are tons of places to lock bikes. They also do food all day.

So, whoever suggested it (sewinman, I think) good shout, and put it in your diaries - 18th, Roebuck, Richmond.

    All are welcome!

the Roebuck was in one of the massive sunday papers best london pubs or some such, good view and easy access to one of the maybe the steepest hill in (greater) london namely nightigale lane. nice place i'll be shooting past in a hour or so
  • Was planning to leave London on Friday 17th, but travelling by train out of Euston on a Friday is bad even without a bike, If I can persuade the rellies to let me stay an extra night I'll be there too.

Can someone post an explicit google location, and time so there's no mix-up for meeting point. It might be obvious to someone who knows RP, but not to me.

Looks like I'm going to be even more pressed for time now........the silly wife has gone and arranged to have a meal with some of her friends on this day to! Thankfully my wonderful sister-in-law has said she'll have some of the kids to allow me a few extra hours at the park so I don;t just arrive, lap, eat and leave!

I really do need to find a better route to the park..........Jen J's way was nice and easy but looking at the map wasn't the most direct (I did appreciate the help!) whilst Biondino's guidance back was also excellent but I'd get lost trying to follow the back roads again myself........looks like I *might* be heading to the park for tomorrow evenings ride :-D

Beer and cycling? Sounds good to me. Count me in

fairweatherbiker: I'm just round the corner from where you're staying. Richmond is far from my regular riding areas, but I'm sure we can find our way there if you fancy it.

Any North Londoners want to meet up in Regent's Park, and head down there in a group?
