I don;t time myself but I reckon about 14 hours last week. that's probably about average.
It takes me about 2 1/2 hours to cycle to work and back every day - and that's most of it.0 -
I'm not even doing 10 hours at the moment - shameful. Sunday is my only opportunity to have a decent run of say 3 hours but I missed out on that last weekend which cost me 50 miles on the SCS stats.
Most days I do 50 mins to an hour in and 1/2 hour home (sometimes an hour) 4 to 5 days a week._________________________________________________

CiB wrote:m; your cumulative stats look ok to me; you're 12.8 miles below Redvee, and then your Cuml Gap col shows the right values all the way to the top of the tree. What browser you using? Are you following your name from the main page to the Add page, then returning via the Home page link on that page (not via the back button)?
Have you got cookies enabled? TBH the Cuml Gap col is (also) a bit of a beta test to see how many issues arise with cookies, if & when we have to go down the route of having a log-in.
I'll see what's involved in changing the default sort to ASC. The default is Desc, which clearly isn't much use in this situation.
panic over. i didnt realise they were all my gaps. i assumed that was the cumulative gap for each rider.
im just even more depressed now0 -
Dunno if i'm considered old, but most of my miles are on steel.0

Interesting, so just how many mile munchers are regular steel riders?

Steel is real, and all that bull crap.
I ride a On-One Pompino. Its made out of the same iron they make big gates from.
I also have a steel Mountain bike. Dialled Alpine... An Alu mountain bike - Commencal Meta... A Carbon road bike in the building up process, Planet-x SL
I like all materials.
I wouldnt buy a Ti frame though. They last for life. Who wants the same bike all their life!?0 -

Never fear you will again, once I dispatch these early season hopefuls :P
When will they learn never under estimate old dudes on steel bikes....
Hope so. Second of March and not a single extended commute yet. All this MTB stuff sucks up time but it's no good for the mileage. Gorrick again this weekend - thats another 100km sunday morning road ride missed.

Me.
I have other bikes- the perennial Winter Hack, the summer fixie etc but I've been riding the same 531 touring bike since I was a teenager, and hope it will outlast me.
It's comfortable, reasonably light, versatile, strong, repairable. Why would I want to change it?
Genuine question... let's say I was looking to replace my "good bike", a classic 531 touring frame with 18-speed gears... What would be "better"?
Cheers,

If I told the wife I had a bike that would do me for life, she would never let me buy any more!
I'm only jesting mate. If you have a bike you love you will never want to replace it.
My 2007 Commencal Meta 5 was the best mountain bike I ever owned but i cracked it. I got it replaced under warranty and still havent ridden the new one as I am waiting on funds and parts to finish it off, but if that bike had have lasted for ever I would never have changed it (But would have needed a damn good excuse to add another one beside it...)0 -
Me too : I'm very lucky that I've got both of my dream bikes so I can't see me ever changing either the Litespeed or the Roubaix now.

CIB should we remove the people with no miles?
they've 'registered' and can do so again if they actually have miles to enter, it reduces the groups average, it's untidy etc

CP : it is helped by the fact that I can get in appx 50 miles a day every time I commute (usually 4 times a week in decent weather) and then if I get in a 60+ on the weekend that gets me around 250 ish so it sort of looks after itself.
The plan is to get into some sort of shape to do the Dragon Ride in June as my birthday present to myself.
