    That's it - target achieved.

Looks like it's only me and Hambones who have managed over 600 miles every month of the year so far.

That makes us like Gods! 8)

Consistency is certainly the key. Two weeks of no commute action in January put a big dent in my stats. Been playing catch-up ever since.

I'll be taking my bike on holiday with me this year. In fact I'm cycling to my holiday detsination, then cycling when I get there, then cycling home again.

I'm tempted to get a folder for my Canada trip in April/May.

Bit of a fiddle about to the leaderboard.

It now shows your position in the leaderboard prior to your last update. As it's not the football league where matches finish at 10 to 5 and we can have a shiny new table, I've tweaked it to show where you were before your last miles. Usually you'll rise a place or two (so green flag) then like me steadily sink back down. Red indicates you're lower than you were, green = higher.

I've also added cumulative miles to show har far you need to climb above all of the riders above you. Go the add page so it knows who you are, then via the home page lin to let it fill in your cumulative miles gap.

    More later.

Like the green & red flags but not the fact that it shows I need to fake 900+ miles to get to the top
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

Guys, see my post 'Commuting as training'. Does simple mileage equal fitness or is it much more complex than that? It seems it is more complex but i quite like the simplicity of mileage = fitness.

I don't kid myself that I'm fitter than most of you lot - but I do have more time on my hands at the moment. :D
  • Well My car is dead i think.
Its stuck at my parents house almost 100 miles away.
This is a nightmare as it will be more cash shelled out to fix it, but on the plus side it means I have no option but to go and do my first full 5 working days commute in and out irregardless of the weather... and my Planet-X Superlight Carbon frame turned up on friday so I get to build it up and do the Ton down to mum and dads to collect the car.

Every cloud has a silver lining and all that
  • Checked my numbers for Feb and I'd missed one longer return journey off last week, so with that, a 62 miler on Saturday and a 24 miler on Sunday I got through my own target of 850 which I'm reasonably pleased with.

I'll be away for the best part of a week in Germany during March so the 1000 barrier is still going to be pretty elusive ....

Me too, also could we sort in descending order when you click the column header? I appreciate that I may be biased here, but the bottom of the table is filled with people who've got no miles or don't update using the add miles function, so that's not terribly useful!

I can see a bumps chart coming on......

The sort thing's stopped working since the new columns went in. I'll have a squint at it later and see what's causing it. Annoying how things work ok on the dev box and then don't on live tho.

    I blame the users personally.
    :D

You can select Last 3 Weeks from the drop down - that filters out a few people who've joined and then not troubled the miles list, or haven't stuck any miles up in the last 3 weeks. There do seem to be a few doing that this year; what's the point of adding yourself and then not sticking any miles in? Come on.

Hmm maybe the'll hit us with their miles at the end of the year to avoid the end of year cutoff.

CIB not sure if i should thank you for showing me how crap im doing in bright lights now. I seem to do 70 miles at the weekend and it moves me up a place

One thing, the cumulative gap is working in the wrong direction, its adding my gap to the gap bellow me instead of adding up all the gaps above me. Might be misunderstanding what you intend with that though.

Again props for the website its a nice little motivator/depresant.

I wonder if CIB ever sits there late at night, looking at the stats code thinking:

m; your cumulative stats look ok to me; you're 12.8 miles below Redvee, and then your Cuml Gap col shows the right values all the way to the top of the tree. What browser you using? Are you following your name from the main page to the Add page, then returning via the Home page link on that page (not via the back button)?

Have you got cookies enabled? TBH the Cuml Gap col is (also) a bit of a beta test to see how many issues arise with cookies, if & when we have to go down the route of having a log-in.

I'll see what's involved in changing the default sort to ASC. The default is Desc, which clearly isn't much use in this situation.
