All this mileage banter is getting me very twitchy : drat!!

Still I've got another 120 miles planned by Sunday so rest assured normal service will be resumed by Monday morning ........

Bit of a shocker this morning - went 100 yds down the road and realised my chainset was all wobbly. That explains why I unexpectedly unshipped the chain last night. Hopefully it's just the BB bearings (which I have in stock) and I haven';t knackered the chainset itself.

Last nights semi early night sleeping with three hot water bottles in various places seems to have clear most of the aches

Now for a nice gentle pootle home followed by an extended Friday commute to round of the week and we're DONE!

Entered my figures and fell 0.7 miles short of the 1000 mark. Not leaving work 'til 9:30pm either, dum de dum (tapping fingers on desk).

I'm between a rock and a hard place on the table, I can't see me bridging the gap ahead and have a few breathing down my neck about to pass. Must get a few miles in on Sunday - I've said that before though.

I'll be happy with a 500 mile a month average over the year.

Even a week ago I thought I'd be happy with a steady 600 miles a month. Just caught myself trying to work out if I can comfortably manage 800 this month and, maybe, a 1000 next month. :?

I have a spreadsheet plan and everything. However, I should stress that of the three goals I have for the year, none of them are winning the stats league (honest)

Indeed, although if I achieve all three, well lets say you'll have to be doing well....

    Here's a nice simple goal

Take you best months miles, then add 10% or more each month bare in mind if you over do it one month you'll suffer for the rest

Jeez Porgy - good going mate. I've got no hope - I could cope with 150 - 200 miles a week if I had the time, any more than that and my legs would really start complaining.

It's not my goal either - but fits in nicely - I've got some long distance rides I really want to do before I get too decrepit - and need to get fit any way I can.

I think Mrs Benno would start asking some questions by August if not before. Coming home late, looking tired, possible loss of "the drive"

So....when's the first SCS related divorce/split up gonna happen, you'll have blood on your hands for thinking this up ITB :D

I've been pushing my miles up gradually since last February and at the moment feel as if I'm treading water a bit - bad weather and dark nights has been a real problem for me since December - as it has been for all of us - but now the sun's out I feel somehow renewed. I managed over 800 miles last July and then - as itboffin says - suffered for it in August. But I'm ready for another go.

I'm lucky mine happened just before I joined SCS - I'd already had the 'why aren't you getting home earlier?' argument often enough.

I'm making the most of things at the moment in case we end up getting back together at some point - if I moved back in with the wife now I'd be back to my old 5 mile commute.
