Sorted. See ML page... (it may well disappear tonight without warning)
    Edit - I'm top. Whoopeee

Sorry Ginge, I knew two other black pint drinkers... If only some way of resetting morpeth regulars to drinking volumes. I might have a chance of being in the top 5 that way. :D
I knew they drank the black stuff, too, but I wanted my one minute of glory ;)

for myself it's being born, and grown up, and then lived most of my life in wales my folks are english and my blood has no welsh that I've found though covers the rest of the 6 nations.

essentially I feel Welsh not English.

Born in Poole, but moved to Wales six weeks later. Lived there until I was 21. Welsh parents. Didn't speak English until I was four. Had a Max Boyce audio tape in the car. Never been to Twickenham or Wembley. Job done.

Half Welsh (the dominant half), half Irish (especially when watching the Six Nations at the moment), born, bred and living in Cardiff - I'm in the Celtic League :D

As I'm from a bit of Devon that wasn't conquered by either the romans or the anglosaxons - and my grandmother is Cornish - I am most definitely of Celtic origin.

I think that qualifies me to join the Celtic League 8)

Are you on the selectors panel for the English (or Italian) Rugby Squads? :D

If you feel like a Celt I'd let you in, others may request a stewards enquiry though

    OK... I'll add another criterion:
You can see trees from every point along the way (please don't crash trying!!)

And soften the traffic lights to less than 3 sets
    Does that help at all?

    Rural Rider Rules:
At least three of the following must apply to your usual commute:
    - Less than three sets of traffic lights
    - Less than 10% of the route is lit by streetlights
    - You have to avoid manure on the road
    - You can ride at least a mile with only the sound of your bike and birds tweating (not a twitter reference)
    - You see a tractor / farmer working
    - Regular encounters with girls on horses
    - You can see trees from every point along the way

Brought up in England - ok that can't be helped, but the "support England" bit may keep you out of our exclusive group, we don't just accept anyone ya know

The fact that you're around the top 10 of the main group has nothing to do with it

I would have said the test for entry to the Celtic League was when England play Ireland, Scotland or Wales you support Ireland, Scotland or Wales.

However feel free to drink as much Guiness as you like

    Hmmmmm

I did say the qualification had to be stricter than the football.

Also Celtic is a euphemism for not English

 I'd like to see you explain that to a pubful of pi55ed up Cornishmen - you know they don't think they are english.

anyway - this proves i'm celtic:

anyway - I'm happy to withdraw if asked - I'll set up my own breakaway westcountry league. Or maybe I'll invoke my double scottish ancestory - a paternal Great Grandmother and my maternal grandmother being descended from two fine Glaswegian families.

let me know if you can see the map it OK - I can't

my extended ride home is great, it's faster average wise (rocked over 19mph average tonight) and an extra 7.3 miles a day... less traffic and better road quality too.

and for a general 4 week commute 5 daysa week that's 666 miles  awesome

I changed the map to a link - hope that's ok.

You've got the spirit of a Celt in my opinion, I have no objections to your inclusion.

Wonder if I can squeeze an hour in after work which equates to 16 miles'ish - Mrs Benno has a curry on ready for my arrival - what a woman, I'm a lucky fella. My stomach is telling me to do the 3 miles but I've got to get some miles in, now then what excuse can I use when arriving home in a sweaty mess at 11:30pm? :D:D:D

If I mention the SCS she'll have me sectioned, she already has her concerns about me :D
