Nope, I've got a long ride planned for Sunday but that will be it until a week Monday or even Tuesday, as it's a horrible overnight flight with a 1 hour stop in Saudi followed by a 2 hour stop in Amsterdam on the way back.

What are you complaining about? Surely 1 hour is the optimum amount of time to spend in Saudi?!

I've just checked my training plan and next week is a rest week for me .. oh well, maybe it won't get so interesting

Kinda explains why I feel tired tonight .. and the training software is telling me that I'm over doing it slightly.

Yay, back in the top 10 but 70 miles per day isn't really sustainable.

Would be nice to do a 1000mile March!
I used to just ride my bike to work but now I find myself going out looking for bigger and bigger hills.

And ... out of the top 20 :(

Seeing knee surgeon tomorrow for non-bike related injury (PSA: ice is slippery). Wish me luck. Hopefully just physio.

just love the efficiency of the Middle East, they've known I've been coming for 3 weeks, yet they only applied for gate passes yesterday.....almost finished my book now!

Oh man, I should have added half a mile to the afternoon's half century.

Anyone else up for a Thousand Mile March?

Up to 1000km for the year. Not a bad start so far, with plenty of longer distance cycling planned.

    I don't think I've got time for a 1000 mile month, Is 50+ miles a day do-able?

Yes easily, i tend to do that kind of mileage unless i have to be in the office early or leave late.

Yes, it is rather time consuming, but goals wont achieve themselves!

    700 down, 300 to go!

Well, I've clocked up 80+ in the last couple of days. Energy wise I am good for more but I get a sore bum after 1.5/2 hours, with or without padded shorts.

I've put in over 5k miles since this time last year, so have had plenty of bike time, Is it just a case of putting in more miles and mtfu-ing? Or fitting the new bike to me better?
  • Try a different saddle. I had a sells Italia SLR that made me sore after 10 miles. Now I use a specialised romin, which I've done a 180 mile ride on without getting sore.

Thousand Mile March done, courtesy of a trip to Alston with my brother (he should be up Cross Fell by now), maybe I can make it 2000km (1243miles) since there's a few days of March left!

The 00 has now done over 2000km. Not bad at all. Perhaps it deserves a treat of that new bar tape I have as well as a new chain at the very least.

Hit 2000km in a month yesterday (1243 miles). Snapped a hangar and bust my rear derailer doing it so an emergency upgrade happened and will have to be my treat for doing a 2000km March

2000km and you are talking new bar tape?!! My Ribble is approaching 20,000 miles and it's original bar tape is still fine. If I'd bought fairly cheap new tape every 2000km for the Ribble, I'd have blown about £100 on bar tape by now!

March finished with me averaging 500 miles per month, by 0.34miles. Still on target for 6000 miles despite a few CBA'd days when I'm not working.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

I don't plan on replacing it every 2000km, the current stuff is ripped, has a hole in it and is brown so doesn't match the black saddle. I feel the most important point here is the final one...

Having gifted the field 600+ miles as a result of a deeply silly non-cycling related injury, I appear to have some catching up to do. Will be on CS7 until my knee can take out of the saddle efforts.

puncture just as I arrived home last night, forgot about it and only remembered this morning. N+1 means I got to ride the good bike this morning. I'd forgotten how good it is to ride!

Several weeks off with Bronchitis have seen me drop from top ten'ish to low thirties. Back on it now and wanting to wrap up week with 200 under the belt only to split the rear rim this evening, limp as far as I could till a tenner got me a cab the rest of the way. Now back to the classifieds for a newish set of wheels that might last another 6 years and god knows how many miles!
