CiB,
I'm experiencing Password difficulties. I've logged into the forum ok but the same password doesn't seem to work on the stats site. My apologies as I have "form" for password numptiness.
Thanks

Hi, CIB is (AFIK) just another poster on Bikeradar, he has no access to the passwords here, see the bottom quote for advice...CiB wrote:CiB wrote:Unless I succumb to the charms of a glass of wine or two tonight, I'll be putting the changes up to introduce log-ins to SC Stats, along with a few other tweaks. Expect the thing to be unavailable for a while sometime this evening whilst it happens.
Once in place, your log-in will be your user name on Stats, and to make life easy your password will initially be the same as the user name. Clearly as security fixes go this is pretty hopeless so there is a Change Password option on the log-in page. I'd urge you to change your password as soon as is reasonable, before someone else does it for you as a joke. Ho ho indeed.
I'll have an additional global password update for my use only so if you do need it changing and don't know what yours currently is, ask on here for it to be updated. I'll do it and PM you the new pwd.
A log-in will only be needed to make changes. All are still welcome to look and prowl around the place; you just won't be able to make any changes to your own or other people's stats.
Well it's back. It works as well on live as it does on the dev box, so I'll expect a billion people asking what's wrong in the next 10 minutes.
Changes:
Obvious one is that you need to log in to make changes to stats, but not to mini-leagues. They're still open. Log in only works if you have cookies enabled on your browser. If you don't that's tough I'm afraid. It's how web pages work.
There are a few background tweaks to make it faster.
Your name is highlighted in that dodgy red when you're logged in to make it easier to find yourself if you're not in the top half dozen.
The cuml gap col is based on you if you're logged in, or whoever's name you clicked on to get to the Add page to look at their miles if you're not. So if you want to see how far someone is behind you, log out and then go to the add new page then back to the home page. Easier to do than it sounds here.
Some other stuff too I expect.
Orf yer go with it. Break it, then come back and tell me what you've broken.CiB wrote:Clever Pun wrote:Done, changed ITB's log in
Pass me now....
Edit - gah; he got there first. Still, I have the keys... As if.
Forgot to add that 'Updates in Last 3 Weeks' has become 'Updates This Month' and filters on the current calendar month.
And in case you hadn't clocked it best not to use your Bike Radar password (or your internet banking / Amex membership / fave pr0n site password) as your Stats pwd, as I can at a push get at them. Not that I would obviously. I'm above that. 8)0 -

Hi Good Doctor. I've reset your password and will send you a PM to let you know what it is in a mo when I've done this.
Apart from the fact that the SC Stats web pages grew from the SC Stats thread on this forum there's no connection whatsoever between the two sites. Your Bike Radar log in is entirely separate from the Stats log in.
If you need your stats pwd resetting because you've forgotten it, or you reset it whilst a bit squiffy and forgot what you'd set it to, you have to ask me to do a reset.

Cheers CiB, looks good, and sorted out my password without needing to contact you. All you need to do is "magic" me up an extra 1,000 miles.....
I thought I could be getting a top 10 slot, but lying in a lowly 65th is not the best!! Still, good to see so many people getting on there and it still is an inspiration to me.
A top 40 by end of June is now my target, but even that is maybe out of my reach.... all you buggers doing loads of miles makes me so jealous!!"Encyclopaedia is a fetish for very small bicycles"0 -

Well mkirby, I will rise to the challenge!! Have some weekend stuff planned myself... I was out till February with a torn calf muscle, but getting back up the league is a bit dog eat dog now! Totally agree that it is addictive, and for once an addiction that is good for you - well, until it becomes an obsession.
Lets see what the weekend brings!!"Encyclopaedia is a fetish for very small bicycles"0 -
Attica wrote:Dammit, this thread is driving me to lunacy, I know I'm only (probably temporarily) in 40th place but that didn't stop me adding about 11 miles to my commute home through the pi$$ing rain.
I'm meant to be resting for the velodrome in the morning. The way I feel right now I'll be lucky if I can walk in the morning.
I'm partly to blame for Attica's extra mileage, I asked, begged for a gpx file of a ride and Attica covers it on his commute, I'll cover it on a weekend pootle.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0 -
Having forced myself to 17th in the table with a top 5 in the current MTD... I'm now off to Washington for 7 days
Pass me at your peril, I will come back fighting next Friday! :evil:0 -
OK, have added a Scotland based riders League. If you are north of the border, get yourself added!!"Encyclopaedia is a fetish for very small bicycles"0

By 460 miles
Cheer up! 460 miles is better than none. And as long as you enjoy riding, the miles doesn't matter, if you ask me. Ofcourse it depends on your target with the biking, if it's general fitness or for some racing.
I'll rather drive less miles and enjoy riding every time I get out, than dragging me out the door. If you know what I mean.___________________
I'll get there somehow0 -

Give me a month to pass you on the stats board then... 8)
Your password will be your username for the Stats site. It is recommended you change it the first time you log in(and not to change it to your regular password)0 -
It's your user id by default. Log in and change it as soon as you get the opportunity.0

Thanks for that . I'm now sorted.
all the best
