Got some helmet cam footage of YOUR commute?

I really ought to organise myself to get up earlier and commute down the Devizes to Bath canal path. It's absolutely gorgeous but for safety reasons I can only sensibly average around 13 or 14 mph as opposed to 17 or 18 mph on the road!!

You know I didn't mind the A4 so much when I did Bath -> London last month. Its actually quite a pleasant road on a sunny Saturday.0 -

Don\'t run red lights, wear a helmet, use hand signals, get some cycle lights(front and rear) and, FFS, don't run red lights!0 -

Haha, it is a bit wobbly, just the nature of a camera without image stabilisation.FCN 2 to 80 -

Not strictly my commute but .......
I shot over to Caerphilly yesterday on the spur of the moment to see the pro riders go up Caerphilly Mountain.
Jeez they were fast!!! There was a fantastic atmosphere on the hill with people from all over the place screaming and shouting, waving flags and generally behaving like 3 year olds. Great fun.
Bear in mind this is the route I did about 3 or 4 weeks ago. After 100+ miles I was intent on just getting to the top of this bloomin hill and these guys were racing up it!!!!! Phenomenal.

I don't know if its just you, the video seems to be loading/buffering at a rate of about 1 second for minute. Don't know if its this PC or the Contour site.FCN 3: Raleigh Record Ace fixie-to be resurrected sometime in the future

Strange. It was fine when I posted it. Seems very slow now.
Just tried it on a different PC on a different network and it was fine.
Boring, but fine.

Yeah, I was just amazed to see more than one other cyclist. They seemed to be very 'submissive' rather than taking the lane, and then they switched across lanes without really looking. As I don't see many cyclists I don't know if that's good(no)/normal(maybe) behaviour.
And I got ahead and one of them started drafting like a girl, they turned off before the hill where I was going to definitely pull away. And this is an actual hill, not Balham bowling green.0 -
and then we get another CLOSE overtake

Bit of a long time lurker so this is my first post as I had a very similar experience this morning . I live on the Mendips and commute 15 miles each way and a few miles are on the A37 . I find most heavy vehicle drivers pretty considerate on the whole but have had plenty of very close passes - no more than 12 inches from handlebars - by lorries travelling at 50/60 mph . Didn't bother me too much for many years but in my forties now and seems more crazy - an age thing perhaps ?
For sheer consistency of bad overtaking I find milk tankers and agricultural feed hauliers the worst - quarry lorry drivers the best .
Oddly , I find the mayhem of riding in my nearest city , Bristol , strangely relaxing in comparison0 -
