Did you notice the RLJ? Blatant or what.0

My new contour HD has just arrived.
It's heavy, hasn't come with a vented helmet mount and is taking ages to charge.
It had better be worth the wait, I've used a strap off my Hope lights to make a mount for my helmet, after I ordered an official one off the internet
Anyhoo, I'll try it out on my ride to work later.

You pick the right tags for the video basically, and it's a Contour 1080p running at 720p 60 frames / sec
I can't find the 60 f/s 720p option, I can only see the 30 f/s option .
I've got the button on the camera set to low, is this why ?
I bet it is
I've set it low because I'm not sure if my laptop can handle 'real hd' .

You need the Easy Edit software:
http://update.vholdr.com/client/Easy-Ed ... 4.3979.exe
install that and the options become available - and vented helmet mount is extra...Chunky Cyclists need your love too! :-)

Even my PC takes its time with the 1280x720@60fps I use but some clips are edited upto 3 times depending on what tweaks I add to the film.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0 -

On the first overtake look at the drain and realise that I pass outside of it without having to change my line - the camera makes the gap I had look larger than it was. The second overtake was even closer
Geees the second one especially was a close call - I hope you get a grovelling apology. Somehow I doubt it.
Had an email or two from the Police - they won't be charging the driver, but will be having a word; which to be fair is as good a result as I would ever hope for.
I may have to put the video of the woman on the phone - if only for the advice I gave herChunky Cyclists need your love too! :-)

As posted in the latest red light thread.stuj15 wrote:...and then there are the times where it's entirely your fault....This happened to me tonight on the way home, you can see my head drop just as I pass the black Merc parked in the kerb. One of those bloody flying ants hits me in the left eye and I try to 'blink it out' but only make it worse. I completely and utterly missed the lights change.

A video which highlights the importance of looking both ways before crossing the road and obeying signals.

Damn, that must have hurt. The runner stayed down! Painful lesson to learn.
I reckon I might have seen that coming though - wide open road, runners always catch my eye... who knows.FCN 2 to 80 -

There I was minding my own business, testing out my newly upgraded chainset/rear mech & cassette when some fuckwit decides on this nice tight overtake on the A11 at Stratford. I tried to catch up with him to tell him what I thought of it but he slipped through the lights at the station - just as they turned red (natch).

That was done on purpose, for kickes. Post the number plate everywhere!0 -
The camera has arrived, did my first commute with it today, just two small things:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x9QOAJISEJo
Cox by name......the green van pulled out, seemingly without seeing me.
On the second one, the car was next to my back wheel from the start of the clip, with a clear road. She chose to floor it once there were cars coming the other way, and then had to brake while she was passing because I was so close to the cars in front.
No harm done, just silly.
I need to sort out the angle (of the dangle) of the mount, it's pointing down at the ground too much.
I'll try it on the frame for the ride home, see how bumpy it is.
And I noticed that I respond to danger by saying "whoa, whoa, whoa...."0 -

Nice one, I've seen a couple of white Treks on my travels, give me a nod next time you're passing.
Black and White Scottie, White/Red Spesh helmet.

I would if there was the faintest hint of anything being done about it. BTW I've seen some of your earlier vids, work around the BlueFin Building?0 -

Conclusion today to the above clip. Went to the Public Safety Commitee meeting to decide the fate of the driver in the taxi. During the hearing it turns out he has had two SP30 fines and points and claimed not to have not used the road much despite it being one of the main routes into the centre of Bristol and on his route from home to the rank he works, or used to work
The Council decided to suspend his taxi licence for 3 months, though he does have a right to appeal but given the fact that he had a chance to make comment and declined before the punishment was decided I think he won't.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0 -

Just posted this on the How Beautiful is your Commute thread
It's the descent from the top of Bowden Hill into the National Trust village of Lacock. It's a 40 mph plus descent (in the dry) (or sideways on my arse on the winter ice) and swoops past Lacock Abbey where some of the Harry Potter films were shot, and the village proper which has been used as a set for everything from The Cranford Chronicles to Persuasion.
It makes for a good test going up it the other way too!!

Nothing too bad, but I was pissed off with the double whammy of a parallel turn followed by a needless close pass as if to try and make a point - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFVHLvMyorwFCN 2 to 80

Decided to give the legs a bit of a spin along the embankment, on the way back came across quite a few pedestrians who had forgotten the green cross code.
