It looks like we are all getting new bikes with abit more travel then, so we can show Matt how easy it it to keep up with him on the DH's....

Aye, it was a good ride out in the Peaks, cheers folks. Hopefully next time we might have abit more luck with the bikes.

Jam sandwiches all round next time then Danielle.....

Like Altern was saying about midweek ride, depending on the weather we should be out around Hessle/Brantingham area on Weds night. Although looking at the weather its looks like Weds is a wash out, so we may change to Thurs if everyone is agreement.

    The pics for todays ride!

Great weather made for some good views of an always impressive Hope Valley. First heres the pics of people coming down from Hollins Cross, even with my crash it was a good dh bit, with a nice bit of peadling in the middle, although i don't think Giggsmaster liked be over taking him on a rough line!

Altern_8 fixing his puncture at the top of Jaggers Clough.

Then we headed down "the Beast" which reminded me more of the top half of the world cup downhill course at Fort William, super fast, rocky and Technical. My Bike loved it!

PIcs from the last Descent, coming down from the top of the forest at Wooler Knolls (Woodlands Valley, on the side of Ladybower), down towards Fullwood Stile Farm.

Now then mate, the first set of 4 images are taken at the bottom of the bridelway which runs from the top of Hollins Cross, down the side of black tor into the bottom of Edale Valley. http://www.multimap.com/s/QLpOAEGC here, thats the singletrack we went down.

The rocky pic, that was taken going down 'The Beast' which is here http://www.multimap.com/s/ONlatIGz

The final set, which is the descent back down into Hope, from Wooler Knott near the old roman road above Ladybower is here. http://www.multimap.com/s/OJpPrfcZ

    Hope that helps! 8)

matt thanks for the routes around huton le hole
    doing one on monday

Np mate, let me know how you find the route!

matt this is the route we did
we got a bit lost near the end and a bit sick of opening and shutting the gates

    http://www.bikehike.co.uk/mapview.php?id=13908

The link doesn't seem to work for me? Often that can be the problem with riding in National Parks, theres just too many gates to mess around with :(

We should be hitting the moors on Bank Holiday Monday, if you can join us!

wouldnt worry about fitness mate,we always wait for ppl to catch up at top of climbs and bottom of descents, :) danielle is on a hardtail at mo and missbint37 was out on hardtail as well but shes just about to go buy a orange5.......we all have diff levels of fitness and riding abilities,we normally work out a ride to do on moors/peaks and distance can differ depending on what terrain is like,we dont really set a time to do the rides in,as things can go wrong like they did on sunday so we had to cut the miles short for a change as missbint37's bike was falling to bits on her and dont think we would of been able to do the full 18 miles  .................but it was still enjoyed by all who came out with us....... :D

Your always welcome to join us! I ride a freeride bike (Spec' SX Trail 2008) which allows me to move anything which comes into my path on trails! lol. I love any kind of Freeride/singletrack/DH/backcountry/All mountain riding :D

Wouldn't worry to much about being fit, im always at the back on the uphills, and never mind waiting at the bottom of descents.

Haha i think we get left behind then on hill climbs BUT we leave them behind on the fast techy DHs hehe. Im exactly same i was just getting into DH but got fed up of pushing heavy bike up hill so got rid and got a Yeti freeride bike for all sorts riding
