sorry about today, found I had a slow puncture just before i headed out for the train. :(

Its all fixed now though and decided to lube up the ol' chain while i was at it.
  • Morning guys and gal,

Cheers for the mini run out yesterday. Wish I had not bothered to leave to watch the football. Yes we lost 2-1 as DanielleT clearly reminded me :(. We will see who is laughing in a couple of weeks at Anfield :).

The run back from the Quay at Melton is good, but I see what Barkley meant by the jumps with ditches dug after them. Oh and I managed to get lost it Little Switzerland.

Thanks again, look forward to another ride out when I am back.

Hey mate, your welcome to join us on any ride! As you've most likey read from the many pages we always wait for people. Think of my first ride on the moors with some people on here (Giggsmaster and Altern_8) they was waiting for what seemed like 10mins at the top of one hill! We ride because its fun and its a good social thing too!

Welcome! The more the merrier, as they've said its more about having fun, meeting new peeps and getting fit rather than 'we must do so many miles in such a time without putting your feet down!' They're all gentlemen (well most of them  ha ha!) and wait for everyone to catch up.

  • Aye, it twas a good ride yesterday, need to catch up on my fitness.... Or pour the beer down the sink instead of my throat....

On Sunday then, I was maybe thinking of doing this route:-

    http://www.mapmyride.com/ride/united-ki ... 4429159781

There are some hefty ascents, but nothing us immortals can't handle (Matt excluded.... ) and some very nice descents, which can get a bit rocky in places (which I think you will love Matt... ).

So, whoever fancies a little 18 miler in the Peaks on Sunday, stick your name down and then we can maybe sort out the car sharing.

Can my name be put on the list please? :)

When you say rocky sections, will my poxy HT be able to deal with them??

Think i'll have to skip the Thursday local as i'm getting my hair cut at 5, and you know us women take forever at the hairdressers! :P Need to get out though at some point to keep me legs going!

  • Will have to give Sunday a miss :( Got a fun weekend of eating and drinking organised and will only be able to fit a local ride in. Shame, it looks a great route and it would have been nice to have had some make up advice from Dannielle and Altern8

You know im down for anything in the peaks! As for the ascents, i'll be ok! (thinks about doing some road rides before sunday!)

And finally some rocky techy stuff to show those who aren't familiar with my techniques of riding downhill ;)

Im up for car sharing, can easy fit another bike in the back of my tractor!

There is probably one long rocky DH, which is doable on a HT but you mighty find your back end bouncing around a bit. The other DH's are more free flowing and not as bumpy, so you should be fine.

No worries Steve, I suppose it gives us chance to have a few long rests at the top of the ascents and not feel as though we are holding you back....

We may have a new guy soon haha, my mate should be getting something better than a BMX (haha) in a week or so. And i'll be out and about once i get my rear brake sorted. Went to get new brake hose from freetown the other day and they assured me it was 6mm, was it heck, 5mm! So if anyone needs spare 5mm its all yours. BTW, its to stop the damned brake squeal, upping size from 160 to 180.

    Usual Hessle ride Sun 30th?
