Alright guys....
Depending on weather, I'm thinking of doing a short ride up on North Yorks Moors this Saturday. Starting at Low Mill, it will be about 12-15 miles with a couple of hard climbs (for me at the mo....). It's nothing too technical, just to get the legs going in the new year.
Let me know if anyone is interested.0 -
We are looking at setting off round about 11am tomorrow as long as the weather stays as it is if anyone fancies joining us.0
-
i would of come but i'm getting freetown to sort my headset out tomorrow0
-
No worries,im sure we will be out again at some point.Whats wrong with the headset if you dont mind me asking.0
-
lower bearing is knackered, strange cos the top bearing is cartridge but the bottom one is in a plastic race???
so might have to press in another lower cup to convert it to cartridge .........0 -
Just booked this years biking holiday......ermmmmmm i mean family holiday  ,i was looking at Aviemore again but decided on the seaside and a place called Burghead up in sunny Scotland,i have the choice of Balblair(rode before) which is a 3 hour round trip but hopeflully our daughter can join me on the easy trails,im also looking at the Moray Monster,Learnie and Golspie.
Just need to get myself sorted out with the new build id like or its the old Kona frame Giggsmaster has leant me for the last year and a bit,as i sent my Cannondale to bike heaven on sunday0 -
Morlay monster looks pretty cool just watched a few vids on you tube. What's happened to your bike to kill it off?0
-
Went out on the local bridleways and roads last weekend with Giggs on my 14 year old Cannondale as i havent sorted out a chain for the Kona yet,and the rim on my rear wheel has split(v-brakes),so i now need a new wheelset which i cant afford at the moment so ive taken the rear cassette/chain and jockey wheels off the Dale and put them on the Kona,so for the time being the Dale is looking very sorry for its self.0

now then, anyone fancy the ride at Cannock Chase on Sun 26th Jan ???0
-
Your not having much luck with your bikes lately are you altern.0

I dont mind doing the odd trail centre while on holiday or the hours drive to Dalby every now and again, but 2 hours 45 mins is a bit far when you have the natural trails of the moors and peaks at around the 2 hour mark, but then thats just my opinion mate as id rather do the natural stuffmidgehulluk wrote:Your not having much luck with your bikes lately are you altern.
Not wrong there pal, swapped everything over on friday and stripped the headset down and gave it a good clean and grease ready for getting out today and chain is slipping,so looks like ill have to buy a new chain and hopefully avoid having to buy a new cassette as well0 -

Ain't really been out much on the bike lately, too much work for my liking.....
For me at this time of year, its just case of getting some miles in the legs and trying to find some place where it might not be a mudfest. I'm trying to think of routes on the Moors where the majority will be gravel base. Call me a fair weather biker......
And, maybe a little to far for me for a ride in January.
Did you get new frame then...?0 -
at 246 miles prob better for a ride in summer
got a seggy hand 456 off ebay, had a few issues with it but hopefully sorted now0 -
Mtbdaz wrote:got a seggy hand 456 off ebay
Why did you have to go and get one of them, ill have to look at the Stanton Slackline,Ragley Blue pig or the Cotic now,as we cant all be riding round on 456's
Im looking at going out local at some point this weekend,as long as the new chain ive got doesnt slip when ive fitted it :?0 -
get one and join the gang
where u thinking of going?0 -
Mtbdaz wrote:where u thinking of going?
To sell my body parts
I wont be getting out now as the chain is still slipping on the front chainrings so looks like ill have to buy some new ones, which i cant afford till end of February,so over the weekend ill have to transfer my bars/brakes/wheels onto the Dale so i can at least get out on some flat stuff,so looks like it will be Monday when im out now.(weather permitting)0 -
Hey guys i bought a new xt drivetrain for me bike and wanted to know which bike shop you would recommend to fit it for me id have a go my self but not to sure if ive got the right bb for the bike or all the tools.
just been in ken ellerkers tonight and they made it sound complicated and couldn't give me a rough estimate on the cost so not really filled with confidence with them. So what do you say guys.0 -
to be honest its not that complicated, what XT bits have u bought ???0

Had to go into work so never had the chance to go, hopefully this weekend.0 -
Managed to sort out my old Dale so at least i can get out on some road and smooth bridleways till i can afford to buy some new front chainrings,so i will prob be looking at march/april till i can actually get out on the moors/peaks and dales.0
