Wont be out this weekend, going to look at getting out Friday instead and take a trip to sunny Hornsea and back0
-
Went out this aft on the bike with the aim of doing 35-40 miles,10 miles into the ride i got into the festive spirit by stopping and helping a fellow biker fix his puncture as his co2 cannister wouldnt work and he had pinched the tube while putting in the new one,20 mins later i was on my way feeling happy in myself.........16 miles into the ride i get a puncture and the heavens open, new tube in but within minutes flat so i put my other tube in and guess what, slow puncture,so after my good deed early in the ride im faced with riding the bike/pump up tyre/ride bike/pump up tyre till eventually the tube gives up and i have a nice 2 mile walk home in the pooring rain, got home wet and very muddy but still had a smile on my face, just need to order some new tubes now.0

Sounds like a good day out hah. Must have been a bad day for cyclists, I got one yesterday too but only about half a mile from home so the walk wasn't too bad. Couldn't find what caused it though.0

Anyone been out at all over last few weeks?
I decided this morning to head out for a ride and was in two minds to head out to Brantingham, or do the Hornsea track route,by the time i had got myself sorted it was dinner time so i decided to do the Hornsea track to Swine then cross country to Wawne and back along the river bank home.Once i got onto the cross country stuff from Woodhouse farm it was very hard going with lots of mud and puddles, and the farmers have been out cutting the thorn bushes as well.
All was going well till i hit the river bank and my chain started playing up until all of a sudden it decided it didnt want to carry on going round my rear cassette but split at a link and jammed its self round the front chain rings,so i had a nice little 2 and half mile walk home,at least it wasnt a walk all the way from Brantingham,im sure the riding gods dont want me to ride the local stuff after this ride and the last one0 -
No riding for me, probably no surprise to you all. I have bought a helmet tho so should be up for a weekend ride early next year just need to find something comfy and warm to wear in these cold winter months.0

Depending on youre budget for clothing, you could get a thermal base layer/leggings/waterproof socks/shorts/inner padded short and a water resistant jacket from Wiggle at the moment for about £120,or keep a eye on youre local Aldi store as they sometimes get some biking gear in at really cheap prices, but i couldnt say how good they are from Aldi.0
-
I suppose i only need a waterproof jacket, leggings and shorts sort of thing as i have base layers already. I need to start getting out soon tho as i feel like I'm just wasting money at the moment with all this new kit i have acquired so far but I'm guessing there will always be something else i want.0

I haven't been out for a while now, hoping to go out over the Christmas period with extra time off from cycling to and from work.
Been thinking of going over the bridge maybe or back up to Elloughton/Brantingham. Anyone up for a ride over Christmas? Probably the weekend after Christmas.0 -

Evening gentlemen,
Let me know if anything is happening this weekend, got nothing planned so free both days. Should there ever be a trip to Dalby that I can tag along on, i'll happily chip in with petrol money and some grub etc.0 -
Giggs is out saturday night so he wont be fit for sunday.
Ive got a bike rack that is suppose to do 3 bikes but im not to sure on the weight limit without looking,so if you two want to goto Dalby dont worry about me.0 -
3 bikes on the back might be a bit dodgy....... shall we go local ?0
-
I'm up for somewhere local, as long as the wind has died down by then.0
-
Ill see if i get chance to swap a chain over and see if it slips in morning as to whether i will be out Sunday.0

Went from centre of Bridlington and 6/7 miles north to the lighthouse and then back down. Encountered more steps then you would in a skyscraper hah. Lovely weather though, really good ride.
