Looking at getting out on Sunday locally as long as its not raining,be setting off about 10am if anyone fancies it.0
-
I should be free, where are you thinking?0
-
Not to sure at the moment, might just do a shortish ride out towards brantingham via Dunswell lane and back past The Lawns as it will be very muddy out that way.0
-
Fair, i'm up for that, hopefully it'll stay dry until then.0
-
can't do this week cos i'm working but should be good for next week0
-
Im going to have to give it a miss tomorrow as i had the flu jab the other day and im not feeling to good, plus after all the rain it will be a bogfest over at Brantingham.0
-
Well lets hope next weekend's weather is better.0
-
I can only do this Saturday should there be a ride out this weekend.0
-
Was sat in Dalby courtyard cafe (as i do most days) the other day, reading a big brochure they've just put in to extol the virtues of Yorkshire and Humberside and obviously persuade tourists to spend some money in the county. After reading about all the delights that Hull town center had to offer it finished of with what was obviously meant to be a picturesque description of the area around the town, describing it as "hauntingly desolate". I immediately intepreted this as meaning "bugger all there" and "nothing much to do or of interest" and burst out laughing. Got some funny looks from the other patrons.
You know it's bad when the only thing they can think of to say about where you live in a glossy booklet the thickness of a telephone directory is simply "hauntingly desolate". That's up there with the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxys description of Earth as "Mostly Harmless". Lol.
Maybe we should rename the thread?0 -

I was just thinking I may be able to get out on Sunday afternoon depending on weather....Ouija wrote:Was sat in Dalby courtyard cafe (as i do most days) the other day, reading a big brochure they've just put in to extol the virtues of Yorkshire and 'Humberside'........
Now that's a blast from the past, was the brochure from the 80's...?0 -
Ive tried to find this mystical land you call "Humberside" but to no avail,so "hauntingly desolate" sounds about right for a place that doesnt exist
As for getting out this weekend,it will be a last minute thing with me as ive had a really bad disease the last couple of days, after googling it ive found it is one of the worst infections known to man and its very life threatening only to men, something called "man flu",not to sure if anyone else has heard of this disease0 -
we are off for a leg stretcher tomorrow night. its a full road route to barton via the bridge. it will involve a beer and pizza stop. all abilities are going, so it will be an easy ride out. we are leaving the main entrance of uni at 7pm so bring lights if you want to come along.0

Only just seen this^^^^^^^^,but wouldnt of made it as i aint got any lights .Was hoping to get out this morning but the other half has me decorating at the moment, and sods law the two day job looks like its going to be 3 or 4 due to the paint needing 3 coats on one wall and 2 coats on the others :evil:0

Will anyone be out this weekend? I'm really hoping this dry weather sticks around.0
-
yeah you thinking sat or sun?0
-
I'm free both days.0
-
Looking at the weather forecast on a few websites, both days should be ok for riding with Sunday having the higher chance of rain, but only at 20% apparently.0
-
Im looking at Sunday to get out,"if" i manage to get the decorating finished, but it will be a last minute thing with me so leave me out of any plans this weekend.0
-
Ok, well I reckon i'll head out Sunday morning. I'll keep an eye out on here for anyone who is out. Not sure where I plan to go or if anyone else who is coming out has a good idea of what route to take.0
-
Depending on the weather, which doesn't look too bad at the mo, I might make an appearance.
What time are you thinking of?0 -
I have no plans so i'm not too fussed. Normally the lads head out around 10am.0
-
I know it's only another hour, but I was hoping to go out about 11ish. I was going to do a route round near me, it would probably be about 20 mile I think.0
-
Got a move on with the decorating and got it finished quicker then i thought today, just need to put everything back in the living room 2mor and sort a few things out, will have to give the bike a wash Sunday morning so i was looking at around 11ish myself.Giggs you looking at doing that route again on Sunday????0
-
i cant do sunday morning so i,ll catch you all next time0
-
11am should be fine, what route is it your thinking of doing?0
-
Yeah a route me and our kid did a few weeks back with a bit added on. So out through Sutton back to Swine up to Tickton and home via Woodmansey.
So meeting point, er..... 11am at the bus stop outside Kingswood School....??0 -
Is there a more familiar spot to meet up at? I should be able to make it to Kingswood School, will set off earlier so I don't get lost. Is it off Wawne Road?0
-
Yeah it's here, if that's a bit confusing do you want to meet at Sutton Road Bridge near Ennerdale Leisure Centre?0
-
Yeah i think it'll be a safer bet to meet at the bridge if thats ok.0
