i went to dalby on saturday i did the full red route in 2h 50 on my 29er
the bit from the visitors center to dixons is terrible now
if i do go back there just gonna do upto the visitors center
  • 2hrs 50mins ain't too bad there Si, I bet that wasn't very enjoyable after you had set off back from the Visitor's Centre, with it being quite chewed up.

Well I did my 1st Cyclo-x race on Sunday in Leeds. It was 1hr of pure hell, but I loved it. It was probably the most knackered I have been in a long while. Couldn't keep up with the guys on the grassed areas, so they were putting upto 2mins on me a lap. But when it came to the short DH's, no one could touch me.....

Can't wait for the next one :D

Giggs are you and your kid out this weekend for a ride
  • Nah, I just need to work on the fitness and powering a bigger gear... I didn't touch my large chainring on the front.

Not sure about weekend just yet, I think I'll be doing some interval training.... Ha ha.. :)
  • So, are we hitting the trails this weekend?

Either North Yorks Moors or the yearly trip to Pately Bridge on Sunday?

Either is good for me never been round patley bridge
But I would also like to have another crack at the incline
  • See if our kid is joining us, I can't imagine he would want to do the Incline, but I suppose there are two ways to get to the top....

Id like to do the annual trip to Pately for a change, but also dont mind doing the incline as long as we could have a go at the Great Hograh downhill?

Should of gone to Dalby. Today was show day for a lot of the manufacturers to show off their new stuff. Lapierre, SRAM, Rock Shox, Hope, Santa Cruz, Pace and half a dozen other manufacturers all had tents erected outside Dalby court yard showing off their products. A lot of the cycle manufacturers where allowing people to take their bikes out for a quick spin round Dalby.
  • Now, if it had been tomorrow, it would have been worth popping in past.

Our Kid... I've got the pedal tool in the back of my car from last time.

Barkey.... Do you have Mud X on your HT, if so, would you recommend using them on the local route when we have had a bit of rain?

Well ive got to put my hands up and say that was one of the toughest 20 mile rides i had done today after not being out on a proper ride for 2 months, glad i did it tho.
Before i attempt the incline again ill be getting 2-3 months of training in,and hopefully without all the rain we got caught in today.

    Hey there
Where is "the incline" that you refer to? It sounds an interesting challenge. I don't suppose you mapped your ride? What sort of climb is it?
    Cheers

The "Incline" is in the Cleveland Hills, and starts HERE,it is just under a mile long but climbs up 600ft.Ive had around 15 attempts at it and managed it maybe 5 times,as after the gate half way up it turns into loose rock which is hard to get traction on.

I think this is near enough the ROUTE we did,the "incline" starts at 9 miles.

We started and finished in a little village called Westerdale.
