  • Aye, see you at the windmill barkey.

Si... I don't know what our kid is doing next Friday but I'm in the lakes for the weekend....
  • i have just come back from pickering. spent the past 3 days up on the moors with the missus. took the bikes and did the scarborough to whitby rail line and then dalby forest for the day.
tried to get elke to do the red run, but she was happy to do the blue one all day.
she did have a good laugh when i got a puncture and then got us lost!

good couple of days off though!

I was at Dalby this morning with sl2371 for a quick blast, just did from the far toll booth to visitor centre and then back along the blue/green route to the car, nice little 12 miles,i couldnt believe how dry it was and they have actually started repairing parts of the red route at last as well.

Hopefully get out again sometime next week depending on when peeps are working etc.

I'm of all next week so any time is good for me just give me a little notice :D
  • did the whitby to scarborough route and back yesterday. took a wrong turning and ended up on the cleveland way, it gets a bit close to the cliff edge in places!

also, dont take it at all! we ended up carrying the bikes up and down cliffs and steep steps most of the way and i got eaten by mozzies again.

the scarborough end of the rail line starts behind the new sainsburys just north of the station, its not well signed.

Probably passed you... Did Scarborough, Dalby, Pickering, out to Rosedale and over the moors to Egton bridge and Whitby. Came back along the railway track to Scarborough (from between 3 to 5pm). Bloody nice day. Not to hot, not too cold or windy either.

Went out with sl2371 today on the local trails and did 33 miles in 4 hours, the trails are still nice and dry and dusty.I managed to loosen a filling while pulling my glove off with my teeth  and also my bearings in one of my pedals has gone and i managed to snap my chain after leaving sl2371 and i had no chain tool, luckily i was only a mile from home tho,so a nice eventful day.

Im wondering if my gears slipping was to do with the chain on its way out,ive just ordered 2 new tyres and ive swapped my chain from my Dale onto the Kona, ill see 2mor if it changes gear ok before ordering a new chain.

Also we are looking at doing a ride on Friday afternoon, depending on what time Giggs gets finished we will be either going up onto the moors or going round Dalby if anyone else is free and wants to join us?

So, upto you where you want to go. Looking at the weather, it could be abit wet on the Moors?
