  • Cheers for the info about Dalby I think I'll give it a miss.

As it's low tide in the late afternoon on Monday I'll bring the Fat Bike and ride from either Withernsea (if time) or Easington down to Spurn Head and back again.

Anyone else with a Fat Bike free on Monday?

I had a great ride on Monday with my ipod for company.

28 miles from North of Withensea to down and round Spurn Head and back north again

You couldnt recommend a good set of running shoes could you,i need something that is going to absorb the weight a bit so i dont end up with backache after 5yards,and not silly money?

well, five of us made it out!
and in another shock, the local route was dry too!

im thinking of doing a calmer ride on thursday, either hornsea (as scoleman hasnt been) or over the bridge to barton.
    we shall see.

Had a trip to Kirroughtree and Ae over the weekend. Some good trails, very enjoyable. I'm not the one to go for trail centre's, but these seemed to be how you do a trail centre.

They were free flowing from the start, puts Dalby to shame....

Some of the drops I was doing on the Black run, I would never have attempted before, surprised myself. Though, I didn't have much choice, when the guys who I was with were tight behind me, pushing me all the way.

No pics, the pace was fast and furious, though I'm hoping for some video footage soon.

To some peeps who dont know about spurn point, that will look like you was biking in water TheJohnClimber

Went out last week with Giggsmaster to the east of Hull, mixture of bridleways/footpaths/old railway lines and some road, covered 35 miles.Im going to have a look in morning at the bridleways/footpaths along the River Humber and see if i can get to Ferriby, then do a bit of the local route before heading back towards Kingswood.

^^^^^^^^^^^I got out yesterday(22nd),managed 34 miles, decided to follow the Trans Pennine route from Hull marina which i couldnt follow/find due to not that many signs pointiong you in the right direction, eventually got to Nth Ferriby and headed off to do a bit of the local route which is very dry at the moment, before heading back past Rowley Manor Hotel/Little Weighton/Bentley/Bridleway to Dunswell lane and back home.

Got myself out again today and had a trip to the seaside and back, went on road to Hornsea and took the old railway track back,30 miles in 2 and half hours. Also just a heads up if anyone is free this Thursday,if Giggsmaster isnt working we are looking at heading up onto the moors, starting at Cockayne,it wont be a fast one, just steady.

As soon as i find out anymore, ill edit this post.

At least its a good thing youre back on the bike at last Si.

Myself and Giggs are going to head up on the Moors on Friday and do the Cockayne figure of 8,looking at leaving Hull round about 12pm,and hopefully start biking around 2pm if anyone is free.

how far would you guys be looking at riding friday? and what sort of time would you be back in hull?

Its 15 miles the route we are doing mate which will take about 3 to 3 and half hours, but you can cut it short at the 10 mile mark(2 to 2 and half hours) if pushed for time......doing the full route you will be looking at getting back into Hull for about 7-30 to 8pm,cutting it short you will be looking at 6-30 to 7pm,above times are as long as there are no big mechanicals to sort out,and it will be a steady ride.

No worries about letting us know 2mor night mate.As for getting there/meeting point, you could either meet us at Mcdonalds on Kingswood at 12 and follow us,or meet HERE if you can find youre way to Helmsley about 1 to 1-15pm,the arrow on the map is the road to Cockayne which takes about 20 mins from Helmsley.

altern...... the route goes through the city centre via queen vicky square.... i know you are bad with directions, but the tpt signs with a man on is the walking route, the one with the bike on is the one to follow! ;)
the walking one goes via the docks, over down wellington street and turns left at commercial road over the warehouses.

the cycling one goes from spyvee street, to queen vicky square and st anne street onto walker street. follow it through to hessle and go over the spiral bridge to reach the foreshore.
