We ain't going to get out tomorrow. Been swapping equipment over from our kids bikes to my old Kona King frame and we are missing a front mech. So hoping to pick one up in the morning and fit in the afternoon.
Planning to go riding on Saturday if we get one fitted, I might try and talk him in to a Peaks ride, with an early start....0 -

Screaming Mile
Hagg Farm

Looks like a good ride lads,is that a new bike Stu?
I was on the lash Saturday night so it was another local Boltby ride in the afternoon once I'd surfaced. Slightly different route with a couple of nice little decents in the forest before you get to Boltby but from then on it's a bit boring, not my route by the way borrowed off http://www.allthegearnoidea.net/

I read some reviews on the race the year before & decided I need to work more on me fitness before I have a bash at summat like that...
It was only 31 miles you would of done that in 2 hours 30mins
Myself and Giggs are off to do Cut Gate 2mor,leaving Hull at dinner time, and this Sunday we are just going to do the local route as long as its not raining :oops:0 -
"and this Sunday we are just going to do the local route as long as its not raining"
Potentially up for joining you guys on sunday if its ok with you, whats the local route? I'm based in Hull, just off Bev road nr the Cottingham Road junction.0 -
The full local route normally starts at Nth Ferriby and goes round Melton/Welton/Brantingham,the route we will be doing starts at Kingswood and we head down Dunswell lane/then bridleway to Bentley on the A164/road to Risby and Little Weighton and Rowley Manor then its a mixture of bridleways and footpaths before heading back through Skidby and back along the bridleway to Dunswell Lane, its about 33 miles and takes in roads/bridleways and the odd cheeky footpath.
Not sure on a time yet, will know more nearer the weekend.0 -
Good ride out at Cutgate on Wednesday with Altern. Great weather, lost quite abit of perspiration....

great pics mate, looking good in the sunshine!
let me know of any midweek local runs or if anyone wants a midweek one, ill take them out.
i have been out a few times on the local route and have not encountered any logs yet. any updates on the walking clan putting down booby traps?0 -
I dont know about anyone else Stu,but i tend not to ride a lot of the footpaths on the local route now mainly stick to the bridleways as its a 32 mile round trip from Kingswood  ,i have noticed in the last few days tho, that the walkers have been putting branches and trees across a woodland trail i take the dog for a walk through running next to the Ennerdale link road which myself and Giggs sometimes ride through, its not even a footpath as its private land(no signs tho),i honestly dont know why they do it,and what goes through there minds,as there will come a day when they will kill someone and get caught for it :evil:0

The peaks looks good. Will have to try join you next time you go.
Anyone up for evening/night rides around dalby/pickering area during the week? My usual riding buddies are stuggling to make it out these days.
Can do any night but usually go tuesday and/or thursday nights.
Normally ride as much natural stuff as possible and with lighter nights and drier weather will start to do few hours on the moors, hole of horcum, levisham ect.
Not race speed, just normally a nice 2 1/2 hr social ride to suit.0 -
You picked a good time to mention a few night rides up on the moors with all the snow that fell
Myself and Giggs do a few night rides up on the moors, normally look at June/July time tho so it stays light for longer,we look to start around 4-5pm from Eller Beck on the A169 north of Fylingdales and do anything from a hour and half to 3 hours of the natural stuff.
Youre more then welcome to join us any other time, our next ride out will be the 14/15th,not sure where yet tho.0 -
Hey guys i'm from Hull (Newland Avenue area) and i've just bought a mountain bike, my 1st since i got rid of my Raleigh Activator about 12 years ago! Would be interested in joining in on some local rides in the near future.
Cheers

If anyone is going for a local ride its normally put on here mate, you can always pop into "Bobs Bikes" on Bev Road/De Grey Street and ask to speak to Stu,he does a lot of rides to Hornsea and back on the old train line,so you can get youre fitness up.0
-
Yeah, I'm sure if anyone is going out in the area, there is almost certain to be a post here. As for the weekend, I think I'm waiting to see what the weather brings.... :?
Si... If your free in the next week or so, we will have get together to sort out our C2C accommodation and plan of action....0 -

Ok text me anytime you want to meet up0 -
Is there anyone in the Brid area that fancies meeting up for some training rides?0
-
Where does the Hull-Hornsea route start, i've seen both Princes avenue and Stoneferry mentioned when searching on Google0
-
hi adz83. the route starts at the end of duesbury street on princes ave. follows east over bev rd/bankside/riverhull onto foster street.
pop into my shop or google my name to find my site (obviously cant promoteit here!) and in the bottom right of the homepage is the hull map pdf.
the local route is boggy as hell at the moment. went out on sunday and the nut wood area is pretty much unridable. took some young upstarts out and showed them up! (i mean 20 something years old!)
one went home early, one cried and one was sick!.... result!
the hornsea line is fine. did that on monday to stretch the legs. racing on saturday if anyone is at dalby and wants to see a fat man fall off!0 -

So how did it go Stu,i bet Dalby was a mud bath after all the rain?
Looks like more rain forecast for the next week, aint been out for 3 weeks now, seriously need to get out at some point, but from what ive read the North York Moors are unrideable at the moment,so i can see the Peaks being just as bad,so looks like it will just have to be a bit of local road riding0
