OK,see you in about 3 or 4 weeks. OK?0
-
Its back up and working at last.....
Myself and giggsmaster have done the Linacre Classic both ways over the last 2 weeks, and its not a good ride,as its torn up by horses
Looking for something during the winter months if anyone has any ideas?0 -
Newton on rawcliffe area holds up pretty well at this time of year. Just a bit of climbing or pushing to be done in that area.
Not the biggest fan of dalby but was up there the other week and was riding nicely. We did a nice mix of marked and unmarked stuff and was one of the best rides I've had in a while.
Think we will also be trying a few more trial centres but revisiting Llandegla 1st to try out the new bits.
Hopefully get out for a ride with you soon.0 -
Cheers for that magpie316,we have done a bit of riding round Newton on Rawcliffe in the past,we normally head a bit futher north and ride round near Fylingdales/Simon Howe Rigg and Two Howes Rigg.Looks like we might have to stick to the double track up on the moors during the winter.
Dont mind Dalby every couple of months for a quick blast, but during the winter it eats my pads,so would really only be able to ride it if its frozen.0 -
why don't you stick some slicks on and do some road miles with me
i might have to have a go on my mountain bike soon it looks soo sad just sat there0 -
Im never going over to the darkside
Think myself and Giggs are doing local route on saturday if youre free?0 -
I'm busy but off Monday and Tuesday next week
Did you and your kid get to Leigh quarry0 -
Nah our kid didnt fancy Lee Quarry,as i said it was more a session place then steep climbs and getting fit.....but after sundays ride he did say we should of gone
If i was to do anything Monday/Tuesday mate.it would only be local,as im skint now till after xmas.0 -
Im planning on riding from Hawkshead on the 27th for a classic lakes loop if any of you guys fancy coming along.0
-
-
I might have a think about the ride, it all depends on what the weather is like around that time. I suppose I might sound a bit soft coming from a Yorkshireman, but if its a bit wet, the 3hrs 30mins there and back becomes a bit of a chore.
Let you know closer the time if thats ok, what mileage is it by the way?0 -
Its one of my favourite rides in the UK, and mileage is about 25
Its a mint day out well worth the effort.0 -
Myself and Giggsmaster are going up to the North York Moors this Friday for a little jaunt if anyone is free.0
-
hi gigs and altern 8 i might be off work on friday if you fancy going to lee quarry0
-
Falling asleep at 8pm isnt good, now wide awake
sl2371,not to sure if giggs is working friday, but after last fridays ride,we might be looking towards trail centres during the winter,as it was a little bit muddy0 -
Did you say you was doing trail centres through the winter lol
Well I will give dally a go on friday if you fancy it and the weather is ok0 -
If the weather has been crap then yea we will be looking at trail centres to keep the legs going,shock/horror lol, dont really want to miss a few weeks like we normally do during the winter,as need to try and keep the fitness up if im going to give the West Highland Way ago next year.0
-
Simon are you still looking at going to Dalby on friday?
We was up there today and it was very dry for this time of year,we did 14 miles today, took the blue route from the visitors centre out to the back end,and joined the red route near the toll booth back to visitors centre.0 -
yes i will be
i don't want to do anything too technical i'm not sure how my wrist wil be
i will text you thursday to organise a time0 -
Ok mate,no worries,im not to sure at the moment if Giggs is coming as well,be looking at doing about 15 miles again, could always do a route like we did today.
I wont be doing much technical anyway,as my ankle is still sore, and i dont want to come off bike and go over on it,so ill be staying away from the world cup course :oops:0 -
Aye up, anyone doing night rides locally. I did my first night ride in two years tonight, on me todd. Bit lonesome in the dark!
I usually start from Raywell, though I'm flexible, don't even mind getting up to Dalby now and again. I'm just getting back into it after illness, and my lights are crap, that's the excuses out of the way, anyone up for it?0 -
I was thinking of seeing if Altern fancied going upto Dalby sometime one evening for a night ride. So i might be tempted, we used to do a few night rides a couple of years ago. It all depends when I work, so somtimes could be last minute.
Don't worry about your lights though, ours ain't too special.0 -
Well, would be good to have some company on the night rides. I usually don't know until on the day, but if anyones up for a ride, even just an hour's blast, I'm game.0
-
When I get a bracket for my light I'll go0
-
If you get up to Dalby for a night ride then I'll try and join you. I get more chance to ride at this time of year so will hopefully be able to join you finally.0
-
What time is everyone thinking of starting a night ride around Dalby? Depending on work myself and altern could get there for about 4ish, start riding 4.30, would that be ok with you guys.
If not, what time would everyone be looking at?0 -
I can't really leave work any earlier than four, when I've been up to Dalby in the evening before I normally get there about 5:30-6:00pm.
Anyone up for Raywell tomorrow night?0 -
I can get there for anytime given a few days notice, apart from mondays. I normally start a little later, but then again only have a 15min drive back home. Some other good routes for night rides around outskirts of dalby aswell.0
-
Regarding tomorrow, I'm waiting on altern to get in touch with me in the morning whether we are off out during the day.
Depending on work, might have a look at doing a night ride next week then. I'm sure we could maybe get there abit later.....0 -
Hopefully ill be ok for a night ride next week at Dalby, just need to work out what my daughter has done with my lights first, and then to see if they still have all there bits and then work0
