Any of you gentlefolks up for a beer or two in the latter part of the week?

Page 6 this thread was on. Page 6!

Self-imposed exile from beer due to impending Marmotte, otherwise I'd be bang up for it.

Will certainly be up for some beers after the big day.

Judging by your time in the Magnificat, JG, I don't think you need the alcohol exile quite as much as I do.

So you're still off the beer then dude, just like you were when I saw you at the weekend

JG, Guiness will make you stronger, it's full of goodness.

I might pop in for a very quick one this week, and I mean quick. I have a 4am appointment with the bike on Saturday morning to get down to Newhaven on my way to Paris and rolling out of the Morpeth at god knows what hour won't be the best preparation

Wouldn't worry about it. I spent six days in Canada a week before the Magnificat eating and drinking, with little sleep, and not much else.

It's helping keep the weight/stomach at bay too.

I'll be sinking pints like there's no tomorrow if I reach the top of the Alpe in one piece, though.

    :)

Drinking and eating is the way forward, I tell you. My two best times of the year in the 3LC have come following a week of it, or of illness. Rest does you good. And booze, it seems.
