Ooh yep I'd be up for a Surrey Hills jaunt. I maybe in the Park on Sunday with my bro, but not sure at the moment. Still suffering from latter stage man flu...
Metcheck - which is far superior to the Beeb weather service suggests on rain on Sunday morning, but a temp of 2 degrees, clear skies and a 13mph wind.- 2023 Vielo V+1

Hmmmm...I have a nasty feeling I may accidentally forget to get up in time on Sunday morning...
Afternoon anyone?0 -
Early afternoon is a good option for me, that way I can use the 'met office' forecasting system e.g. look out of the window.Rule #5 // Harden The Feck Up.
Rule #9 // If you are out riding in bad weather, it means you are a badass. Period.
Rule #12 // The correct number of bikes to own is n+1.
Rule #42 // A bike race shall never be preceded with a swim and/or followed by a run.0 -
What's the latest on this weekend? Anyone actually meeting? I've been stood up for tonight so may actually take the opportunity to get a long run in tomorrow morning, but will head over to RP later in the afternoon.
Sunday I think I may stil be going in the morning, but would a later time suit (itboffin?).
Say, 10.30 at the cafe?

10.30 Sunday morning works for me but tbh if the weather's crappy I'll probably bail.

Thanks for that gents, an area I know a bit, used to live in Staines a while back, and my sis still lives in Laleham.
Twould be driveable from here, probably around 50/60 minutes.

I don't think I'm doing Esher an injustice by saying that you're best off starting in Cobham and giving the legs a warm up by riding down Plough Lane into Ockham and Clandon. Your legs will then be warmed up for the ride up Staple Lane (which is after Clandon on Jash's map).
Theer are lots of variables, but if you take a right on Jash's map, rather than the left to Ranmore Common (this is at the top of Staple Lane), that's a fast descent down to Coombe Bottom. Cross over the mainroad (A24 or 25) into Shere, up through Shere and left at top at Hook Lane etc etc. Lovely ride.FCN 2-4.

Nope can't make it after all, I forgot it's the last F1 race of the year, I will be at home surrounded by food and drink.Rule #5 // Harden The Feck Up.

Oh dear, it seems harsh to announce that I can't make it either, but I can't - I have to go to Islington for a lunch. Have fun Jen0
-
Nothing to do with the rain then? :twisted:0
-
I WTFU'd this morning and went out for an hour in the pouring rain in the woods. It was actually fun once my toes actually dropped offEmerging from under a big black cloud. All help welcome0

So with all this chat about SCR rides in RP, anyone actually want to do one?
This weekend and next I need put in some serious study time, but I'm sure I'll be making time for a quick (or slow :P ) RP ride each morning.
Anyone care to join me?0 -
I might be able to on Sunday, but not tomorrow...I was thinking about a nice long afternoon ride into deepest darkest Surrey tomorrow....well, beyond the M25 at least0
-
I would like to...can someone just suggest a time and place and I will be there...not too early.0
-
I suggest around 10am by the Roehampton Gate cafe? Does that suit?
I'm not completely sure yet if I'll be there...
