A Sensa Giulia Evo Kanjers from Merlin. If I figure how to embed images I'll have a go. But compared to the cross bikes I commuted on for a decade between 08 and 18, it's a revelation. I was worried about moving from disc to rim, but the Ultegra brakes are great and frankly it's for nice weather only, and the CAADX will be for the rubbish winter days. 100 miles a day in the car and two kids at uni meant I needed something cheapish and fun for quick blasts round the New Forest. The shiny black and orange colour scheme is marmite, but I love marmite.

Nice. What delivery date are they quoting?
  • Shoes. Old skool shoes £25 NOS. It would have been rude not to.

Every other post on here seems to be Dan buying more fluo kit.

    I'm going to take a punt @ £250.

A fair amount, but I do tend to shift it on when I get bored with it.
probably about half of what I order I end up not being 100% happy with the fit, and return it, so it's not quite as bad as it appears!
I've gotten more fussy about kit, and won't settle for second best on the fit\quality stakes, where as once upon a time I would have done.

I've had my eye on one of those jerseys above for at least a year I think, but it's always been north of £100 - both of the above in the sale came in at less than £100.

These arrived - the bottom one is lovely, and would have been a great jersey for slightly colder conditions, or for people like me who feel the cold.
Alas the number of reviews that mentoned the too high collar was also an issue for me, so it's already on it's way back.
The top one is spot on, and all for £52.
They size up larger than Ale, Rapha and Castelli - I have an XS, and it's not quite skin tight, lovely quality though.

Decided in the end against the all carbon RC55, and it has also vanished from their website........

The RC50's seem excellent value at less than half the cost, and circa 1400g:

Marin Palisades Trail 91 and 06
    Scott CR1 SL 12

DuraAce R9100 rear derailleur cheap off fleabay. Just the front derailleur and crankset to find cheap and I finally have a matching groupset on the club ride bike. Except for the pedals. Not giving up my Look Keo Carbon Titanium Ceramics for anybody...they are SO LIGHT!

Just to update this - wore these out on my old 2006 Marin hardtail, swapped to 1.75" X 26" tyres to try and keep up with the gravellers and CXers and am pleased to say it worked really well, although perhaps I was working a bit harder at times, but I could bomb downhill faster than them :-)

Also fitted a rock hard Selle Italia saddle, and am happy to confirm these shorts were perfect over a 4.5 hour ride - they literally did not cross my mind once - and also survived a low speed tumble into a thorny hedge type thing, seemingly entirely intact - very impressed, great pad, no movement - compression just right.
Fairly sure they have, or had multiple sizes available, and also in black, except for S when I bought these.

One of the best vfm items I have bought in a long time imho.

EXTRA10 should lop 10% off as well if it is still working, though postage is on top.

    Felt F70 05 (Turbo)
Marin Palisades Trail 91 and 06

^ Glad they're working out for you. I have to say my Aussie Grit versions are in regular use. Very comfy. However, I'm probably taking the baggier gravel riding apparel thing a tad too far having just bought these:

Titus Silk Road Ti rigid 29er - Scott Solace 10 disc - Kinesis Crosslight Pro6 disc - Scott CR1 SL - Pinnacle Arkose X 650b - Pinnacle Arkose singlespeed - Specialized Singlecross...& an Ernie Ball Musicman Stingray 4 string...

    Lumberjackesque :-)

The perfetto LS jersey in yellow has finally come down to a more reasonable price, so have just ordered one from Sigma - been waiting for AGES!

I have to revist this post yet again - this jersey is fast becoming one of my favourites, it's so comfy, fits really well, and is that little bit thicker on the front, perhaps because of the merino, so resists the slightly chiller air if you are out early or late.

    It oozes quality.

I'm still kicking myself for not ordering this one:

It was reduced to under £100, but they now want £130 for it, which is too much to my mind.
Other places have it for less, but I need it in XS, and only their site appears to have it which is frustrating.
As a lover of green and yellow, I know there is not many nice designed jerseys in that colourscheme, maybe i'll get lucky in the future.

So if anyone is considering the Climber 2.0 jersey, give it a go, I don't think you will be dissapointed.
P.S the Perfetto arrived, and is gorgeous.

  • Not long back from picking up a built-up 18" Voodoo Marasa and taking it for a short hilly test ride.

Great range of gears with the triple chainset and 9-speed 11-(34?) cassette, the hydraulic brakes seemed pretty good right from the off.

They were fine for the ride home, but I'll be swapping out those wire bead 40c Vee Speedsters ASAP and seeing if there is clearance for 2.35" G One Speeds... Will be very close, there's ~15mm between the Vees and the fork sides.

Changed my mind - the above are now cancelled although it appears they never recieved the order so not sure what happened there.
These are the chosen ones instead:

Marin Palisades Trail 91 and 06

  • Just ordered myself one of these but it's a custom back order so won't arrive till end of September, just in time for the end of summer 😂

  • Oh and needed a new helmet, spotted the Oakley aro5 in the wiggle sale so didn't hang about as it was the last one in stock (gloss black size large), arrives tomorrow so will see what its like (wanted a lid with more ventilation than the aro5 offers, but at 70quid I thought it was worth a punt)....

This finally arrived last week. Supersix Evo Disc ultegra - I upgraded the crankset to a ultegra compact to help cycling around the peaks easier. So much better than the Boardman 105 I've been tiding for the last 5 years.

That is one cool looking jersey - who makes it?
EDIT: See now it is stolen goat - I was excited when I saw it stated they made a black one, but sadly it has pink detailing instead of limey yellow :-(

I just bought this, took delivery yesterday, and it's a very nice bit of kit, went for XS, and it's on the more relaxed side of things, but looks better in the material than in the picture.

The new Canyon arrived a few weeks ago, it’s bloody lovely and I’m really impressed with SRAM RED, particularly the compensating mode. Managed to nab a few local KOMS on it as well; really do notice the difference over the Aeroad on the climbs. Can’t wait to take it to the proper mountains next year.

Have sold the awfuL Fizik saddle and swapped it for my trusty Fabric ALM. Now just need to get the steerer cut.

Have also ordered a Canyon Inflite SL 7 so I can give some gravel riding a go as well as cycle with my son on some of the trails round these parts. It will also serve as a winter training bike:

    Should arrive sometime in August.
