SB - Supacaz tape rocks :-)

Picked up a 110mm Hoy stem from Evans for circa £8.30 - bargain!
And also two 25mm GP4000S II tyres for the new Mavic wheels, that are destined for the new bike - the CR1 misses out :-(
The wheels on the CR1 will be treated to some already purchased GP4000S II tyres soon though.

I've never tried them, but heard plenty of good stuff about them - I hope they are good, as they are a reasonable outlay.

As an aside, if anyone sees a Tredz offer in the next year, such as £25 off a £300 spend, or a percentage discount code, I would very much appreciate a direct message :D

A new pair of SH51 cleats after pulling one foot out of a pedal tonight and a new pad set for the helmet as the replacement set is coming apart and I took to the Jack Duckworth look today and held the pad together with some surgical tape.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

A bike for child #2 from the local waste recycling centre. £3 for a bike that's a year old, and other than missing the front basket and a slightly sticky headset that is probably 15 mins work to fix, is quite acceptable in my eyes.
And a replacement basket for £5.
Intent on Cycling Commuting on a budget, but keep on breaking/crashing/finding nice stuff to buy.

Not gear as such, but just converted to Strava premium for the first time in 5 years - went with the 60 day BC free trial first though, as why not. Hoping the live segments will prove motivational.

£14.99 from PlanetX, free delivery this weekend....hopefully worth the punt. Preferred the white version but that was an extra tenner, and black goes with everything, right?
The Carnac evo helmet arrived today. Looks to be great value at £14.99. Went for S/M and great fit on me. Wish I'd gone for white though...

I appear to have ordered that on the cycle to work scheme.

Just be wary with the seat tube clamp - I have it on good authority that they have had LOTS of problems with them. If you stick to manufacturer torque then the seatpost slips all the time but they have had lots come back cracked where people have tightened them to stop the slippage.

Surely just use a nice layer of carbon paste before assembly and then torque up and all should be good !?.. Or are we taking a true design issue :?

Went to pick up mine this weekend through Cycle Scheme too and there were no mechanics working at Cycle Republic that day. The sales guy took seat post out and tried to put it again to adjust for my height, started to struggle, then started to hit the actual seat to force the entrance instead of taking the clamp out. Result: He hit the seat post on the clamp which then took a dent of paint job off the carbon frame. Tears ran down my face. He offered £100 cashback.
I said no way. The bike already is worth less when you take out of the LBS. Added to that having a cracked paint job means it's worth even less. Asked for another bike in another branch that had mechanics working and they were a lot more careful and helpful to adjust the height.

Bottomline is: put the seat post first and clamp after.

Been struggling a bit with the 50/16 combo on my Langster.

    Just ordered a 52 and a 14 & 15 for the rear.
Should give me ample gradual adjustments upwards in terms of gear inches.

Worked out at about £40 after BC and work discount.

The fit is sublime, as I already have the black and yellow one, which will shock many of you I am sure.

Those are bought with outdoor velodroming in mind when the weather is not as tropical as it has been for the last few weeks.
But now you say it, my calves tend to be ok, and yes my thighs tend to feel the cold more :D
Perhaps down to mass, or how much different muscles are working comparitive to each other, I have no idea.

Here is another type of hot calf.

Isadore bibshorts via Wiggle. 25% off. Literally the best bibs I have ever owned - current pair are three years old and must have upwards of 2000 hours in the saddle in them. Still going strong, so taken the opportunity to get another pair at a great price. Also bought a couple more of their jerseys. Hardly see anyone wearing their stuff - best kept secret in cycling kit IMO
