Didn't want to start a new thread just for this and didn't know where else to out it.
Quite like the look of the Paul Powerglide.

dazz, was it your goodself who wanted to know about the Bobike child seat thingy?
I finally fitted it a couple of weeks ago if so.

Hi Daniel, yes it was as I was considering it for holidays last year, but our little girl is now past that stage too! Time goes too fast
Hoping for under 1500g for the carbon clinchers. I've a set of Mavic Cosmic Pro Carbon SL-C which I can use but I'd rather have something a bit deeper and I'd like to leave them on the Supersix Hi-Mod0 -

Yes a SL6 in the Sagan Superstar colourway. It deserves Dura Ace but more than the budget can stretch to at the moment so the plan is to use Ultegra for a year and then move it to one of the other bikes if/when I can accord Dura Ace so more than likely it will end up staying on the S-Works!0 -
6months almost to the day and those pesky Italians finally bothered to pull there fingers out and supply me with what I ordered! Bike shop building it for me next week

Bought a couple of small bits recently, nothing exciting. Need to buy some more stuff in the not too distant, really want something that I don't think exists though. I want a Shimano 1x hydraulic disc CX groupset but it looks like I'll have to lash something together.0 -
Not bought anything yet, but have tried a speculative price match with Tredz, to see if they will price match Sigma Sports on the Mavic Pro Carbon Cosmic Exalith wheels.
Have asked of they will match with the TRI100 code lopping them down to £766.
Plus if I go through Tredz, will get circa £15 cashback through TCB.
I was going to wait until next year to go through C2W, but there are no guarantees that the price will be £766, or £866, and it could be over the 1k limit.
Frustratingly Evans no longer price match Sigma :-(
The reason I want these specifically, is that I currently run Mavic wheels with Exalith wheels, so would not need to faff about with changing brake pads.
Any other manufacturer out there sell a rim braked wheel but with an enhanced braking surface?Felt F70 05 (Turbo)

Some PD-M520 since i'm finding both the gravel and commute MTB i'm getting a hot spot on my right foot, always have been prone to it, but I've a tendency to grind in big gears etc.
the newer commute shoes i've fitted the cleats to, and we'll see how these fare.0 -

Should try M530 - might help with the hot spots.0 -

Only been on the 520 for 8 miles it’s only my right foot, I’m generally a flat pedal, but combination of a tenancy to push higher gears plus more awkward to keep track of gears on road shifters ie no indication.
I for some reason also end up clipping the chain stay with flats on that bike, been a good 6/7 years since last time I went clipless, this far it’s like riding a bike or something!0 -
The support and stiffness of the shoe is more important than the pedal if you're trying to avoid hot-spots. My old SPD touring shoes were fine for years, but I think they started to flex more as they grew older and I could feel the small contact point of the M520 / M540 pedals especially in my right foot.
I've just bought some stiffer 3 bolt shoes / SPD-SL pedals and first impressions are good. Bit trickier clipping in initially, and clearly no good for walking, but they feel like the pressure is well distributed over the entire fore-foot.
If you want walkability and double sided SPD pedals you could try a stiffer, possibly carbon soled MTB type shoe0 -

I think that is a valid point to a degree but the smaller you make the contact point the more likely a hot spot is surely?
Either way is distributing the load over a larger area - wider pedals or stiffer soles. One may be more effective than the other but either will help.
I have had floppy hike-a-bike shoes and proper shimano mtb shoes and never had a hot spot but I had M424s and M530s which have a cage so give a bigger contact point. I do have some M520s on the mountain bike now as an experiment and they seem OK so far but when they wear out I will replace with one of the two I normally use with a cage. I wouldnt like to use the M520s with floppy shoes that is for sure.0 -
