I'll have to double check what size the Rapha one is.
I also have a Rapha cap, they call it large. I can wear it, but I have an indent for ages in my forehead afterwards. My dear chap, my napper is quite colossal.0 -

Interesting, I've never had a cap that fits. What size is your head? Whats the manufacturing quality like, many of the pics on ebay seem to show some pretty shoddy work.Intent on Cycling Commuting on a budget, but keep on breaking/crashing/finding nice stuff to buy.

I’m about 62cm. Quality? Not quite Rapha, but certainly not shoddy. There was one slightly long thread which I snipped, other than that pretty tip-top. I’m happy with it and will buy more.
It’s not just the diameter that’s good, it’s the volume, looks much more like a proper bike cap than a kippah with a peak.0 -

Castelli Idro, half price off Westbrook cycles as per someone's helpful post in the bargain thread, but still £££ for a very light plastic mac  .
Ordered Fri p.m. arrived today. Fit is good, XL for me at 184 cm and 85kg, with a bit of room for a layer or two. Haven't read a negative review yet, apart from the price. I am assuming this purchase will lead to heatwaves and water shortages this summer, so you can all thank me when that happens.0 -

Hit decathlon over the weekend, nothing fitted, and my "summer" stuff all got torn last year, so hoping this is also lightweight stuff.Intent on Cycling Commuting on a budget, but keep on breaking/crashing/finding nice stuff to buy.

How do the jerseys size?
I saw them in the leaflet and was gonna try a couple, but saw sizes only started at M. I'm a small in most stuff and don't want to be trying it on in the shop haha.0 -

From past experience, definitely "general population sizes": - for example I'm a 2xl/3xl in decathlon stuff, at least a 3xl in a gabba, but a xl in these...
But that's one of the reason I order them to home - I can then try them on and return them for free to store, without worrying if they'll actually have them in stock.Intent on Cycling Commuting on a budget, but keep on breaking/crashing/finding nice stuff to buy.

After too many ales and red wine, have taken a speculative kickstarter punt on the IQ2 L/R power meter, due to ship in a couple of months allegedly.

Ah yes, that was indeed the place that I was alerted to them by!
As I say, too many quality ales (Tanglefoot), and red wine, combined with watching that, and also missing out on a Cannondale specific Stages crank arm for £200, meant I was willing to take a gamble on it.
And I do appreciate that that is indeed what it is.Felt F70 05 (Turbo)

Gamble yes, but if it works then its a hell of bargain.0 -
I’ve just purchased a new 11-32 cassette, a B.B. removal tool, and a BB71. I was using a piece of plastic pipe to knock the B.B. cups out with, but I prefer shiny things, so I bought a proper one.0

Thanks to the bargains thread, this:

CRC were willing to honour the sale price of £850 (which ended last night) through Cyclescheme - so means I'll end up paying about £630 for it. Considering the groupset is north of £450, I'm pretty happy with that.0 -
Also thanks to the bargains thread, a Castelli Alpha ROS jacket for £130 from Westbrooks. I'm actually quite excited that it's looking cold and rainy for the weekend
Unlike my son who just picked up a discounted 2017 Cube Attain GTC Race from Paul's Cycles. Just under a grand for a full carbon F&F, Aksium Elites, Ultegra 6800 groupset (apart from the non series Shimano brake calipers)0 -
The old Italian frame I bought on Ebay in Italy before Christmas has just arrived. Stupidly I had the seller send it to one of my customers that was local to him. Customer said he had some stuff to send back to me in early January. He finally shipped the stuff last week.
It's an old Chesisni frame, don't think it's anything particularly special but it was cheap and the free carriage made it cheaper still. Just need to but the bits to build it up with now. I'll try to post pictures over the weekend.0 -
Cervelo S5, finally....
Sitting at home waiting to be setup tonight, then waiting for dry roads.
could be a long wait!!!0 -
Shimano gear cables, a pair of socks, overshoes for next winter, and a pair of price-matched (hopefully!) Crud Roadracers Mk3 mudgards. All from wiggle.
This cycling thing is turning very expensive very quickly...0 -

Hmm, if you think that's expensive, you've not been doing it long enough. The previous post was more like it!0 -

You see, I hadn't heard of Chesisni before so I googled. They have some wonderful looking things that I can't afford and I was, admittedly drooling. Then I saw one of their gorgeous Ti disk frames, which they'd kitted out with the ugliest damn disk calipers I've ever seen. Now I feel sick.
Don't click this link.

I've got the same callipers on my bike but on that Kreios they do look out of place.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0

Slightly ambitiously bought an Alpha RoS jacket as well. Only medium left, but given large was a good fit two stone ago, I'm hoping it'll not be ridiculously small on arrival0

I find the size chart to be pretty accurate; I'm 5'6" and 65kg and the medium is a good, snug fit on me.
I went out in the rain on Saturday morning and deliberately picked a lumpy route and rode at a pretty brisk (for me) tempo. I'd put on a thin base layer underneath it, and found:
a) I was borderline too hot at times, but the ability to unzip just the windstopper front soon sorted it without chilling me
b) Not a hint of clamminess from my exertions; it clearly breathes very well indeed
c) The DWR performed flawlessly; the rain / driving drizzle beading up and running off with no sign of wetting out / getting through. The base layer was utterly dry. Hopefully it will continue to work as well with long term use.
So I'm really impressed. My wife refuses to accept that it's even a jacket; she thinks I've bought a very expensive synthetic cardigan. I think it's an outstanding piece of design / construction0 -
This is much nicer than the old bit of pipe I was using previously.
Which will make fitting this easier.
Then It’s on to this.
