Bought a pair of Castelli Nanoflex armwarmers for £26 from Start Cycles, luckily I bought the right size. My current armwarmers are large so went XL and they're a bit tight but are long enough.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

Sportful thermo long sleeve jersey, reduced to £19.50 at Cycle Republic. By the time I've applied BC discount and the balance of my gift card from Christmas it won't cost me much more than the cost of a pint!

X-one Bite for the CX/gravel/adventure road bike, since I like the normal X-ones but be nice to have something with well a bit more bite and hopefully clearing in bog snorkelling mainly when I’m down in Wales.

    Swissstop Flash Evo BXP Pads
    Swissstop Flash Pro BXP Pads

I only wanted 1 pack, in principle the Pros I think, but inadvertently ordered both after looking at them.

Well, despite them being called bxp, the pros turned up as blacks. Evos it is then.

Also grabbed a set of Boardman team spd hybrid pedals for £12 (15 less 20% discount) that was in the clearance section, they had road pro and MTB pro at £18, and MTB team at £15 as well.

Northwave Raptor TH Winter Thermal MTB Shoe. £65 from Evans, not a bad saving on the £140 rrp.

The velcro fasteners on my mk1 Spesh MTB Defrosters aren't going to last another winter, though the shoes have been utterly dependable up to this point. Also well impressed with my new Mavic road Cosmic elite visions which seem to be a similar concept to the Northwaves. Weather-resistant upper on a shoe rather than a boot. Works well, so thought I'd give these mtb versions a go. Also thought by ordering winter shoes now it would help guarantee decent weather after they are delivered!

Nearly bought an Exposure Strada 900 from Cycle Republic but didn't like the look of it cause of the size and had concerns about it fitting in the cockpit on the front of the bike so went with a Joystick MK12 that came down from £139.99 instore to £111.99 on their website then dropped further to £100.76 with BC membership :D

I've fitted one of their stem plate mounts, basically uses the bottom two bolts on a face plate to mount centrally. But fiddly to set up but brilliant after that.

The light now fits directly under my computer and is forward of any cables.

Bought a second one of these bargain lights back in Autumn:
    https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01 ... UTF8&psc=1

Can't fault them. Have been through the winter running two of them on my bars (one bought the year before), the beam is shaped so it lights the road without blinding oncoming traffic, they charge off USB, they last a good few hours off that charge, they strap on with a silicone band, quick and easy to transfer bike to bike, and very compact & lightweight.

The rain and snow hasn't bothered them in the least.

Unsurprisingly, one is a bit underpowered in complete darkness, although that will obviously depend on how your nightvision is, and more importantly how many vehicles pass the other way to dazzle you - certainly a good emergency light to have if you're going out for a long day and might be returning after dark.

Tried to put them on this morning instead of my kneewarmers, only stopped cause they were still attached together

Bought a steel Hope freehub body as the alloy one is getting chewed up and removing the cassette now needs a hammer and punch to get the cassette off once the lockring is undone.

Have returned some DHB Aeron Carbon soled shoes to wiggle and replaced with these http://www.wiggle.co.uk/dhb-troika-mtb-shoe/ in the cammo colourway for £35.

    And some SPD pedals too.

Riding is limited to commuting at the minute (and for the foreseeable) so the cabon soled shoes would have been chewed up in no time. Making the move away from SPD-sl, should be interesting and this might even give me a kick up the ar$e to put the supersix up for sale, although my heart is screaming "don't do it".

Arrived today - nice shoes, but size up a little big if anything. Great with Woolie Boolies though so ideal for winter (and just in time as it's 8.5 degrees outside now  )

Therefore just ordered some Shimano SH51 cleats to go with. Collecting from local Halfords tomorrow. £6.47 with 20% deal plus BC discount. Bargain!

Specialised MTB Comp Shoes in Titanium and Black in Isle of Wight size for £35.
Cheers for the ebay 20% off notice, going to be pondering which to keep - the dhb troika or the comps if they fit

In an amazing feat of consistency my bottom bracket has died this week, which coincidentally is 2 years since I got the bike. This is the second BB I've bought, so I checked on strava when I replaced the last one - 27th March 2017!!

  • Some brand new Fizik R5 Artica boots for next winter (plus whatever comes our way in the next few weeks) off eBay. Note to the seller: Wrong time to list them as an auction.

Ooo, I'd forgotten about shoes as a possible Ebay deal buy, my Shimano SH-M121G pair are ~12 years old and starting to show their age.

Plus they weigh ~840g including Time ATAC cleats, think of the weight savings up the cat4 hills and Dell Road!

Edit: Having had a power meter on the turbo since Xmas, now bought one for outdoors too, 4iiii Precision 105 from Merlin for £341 less cashback (because in theory I could not get BC discount off the same price in Southampton's Cycle Republic).

Lidl soft shell winter jacket with removable arms. Somehow down to £9 already, despite only being out yesterday.
Great sizing, the XL actually came up too big, but if rather that then too small.
Gives me a windproof jacket for 0 to 7 degrees probably, a temp range I have serious issues with at the moment.

Oh, and a chain cleaner thing.

    Toys.. nice toys.

Aye, the shoe thing was a great spot... Email search results I set up yesterday appeared just as the code came over the horizon!

I've no idea if the specialised comps are any good, or how old the ones I got are, but I don't get on well with the new Tahoe's, so worth giving it a gander.

I paid £207 on ebay with the code. But the £259 is still good.

The Wiggins was about to be the one I bought, but this is still, IMO, a better bike overall. Tad lighter.

I need the 26" and factor in work discount I'll stick with the Wiggins. I'm a bit miffed as I have an almost new/perfect condition sky frog bike (older son lost interest) but youngets doesn't want a drop bar!!!

New 9spd Deore rear mech to replace the mech trashed before Christmas, although this should also be a bit of a rant (at myself) because it has also been bought to replace the 10 speed rear mech that was to originally replace the one trashed, but even though I probably already know this, I discovered after 15mins of trying to tune the gears, that 9 speed shifters and 10 speed mechs (MTB) are not compatible
