Had the dispatch email on one of these today.

I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.
  • Finally received these and tested them this morning, absolutely awesome -

    http://www.healthandcare.co.uk/exercise-gloves-and-accessories/30seven-heated-race-edition-cycling-gloves.html

I have real issues with circulation and hence cold hands. I normally wear winter motorcycling gloves (big thick BMW ones) plus an inner glove below 2 degrees.

I had these on the minimum setting this morning, the perfect temperature, far less bulky and more comfortable.

Really happy with them. Bring on those minus temperatures!

Moon Nebula front like (£24 down from £40).

Hugely impressed with the rear light I got last week, decided to get a front one too.

  • Nabbed one of the cheap-ish Perfetto's from Merlin while they still had them. Got a sky blue one so it could well end up going back if it's a bit on the lary side!

New bike finally arrived today after 2 1/2 months of cyclescheme faffage. Cube Attain GTC Race. Brakes are a tad crunchy but other than that I'm fricking delighted...

I hope you've ridden the climb and drunk the beer
Rule #5 // Harden The Feck Up.
Rule #9 // If you are out riding in bad weather, it means you are a badass. Period.
Rule #12 // The correct number of bikes to own is n+1.
Rule #42 // A bike race shall never be preceded with a swim and/or followed by a run.
  • Oddly not to go with the bike I've just bought, one of these.

    vulpine-mens-harrington-charcoal-02_1.jpg

    and one of these.

    strada_600_850.jpg

both for the commute, the jacket as present one is simply not waterproof or wind proof, I'm in civies so very fitted jackets tend to be too snug.

and the light since my commute is a mix of urban streets and dim or even fully dark shared paths/parks and what not, which hopefully will still have a good spread of light but be less in folks eyes.

I bought the Vulpine Harrington last year and, temperatures allowing, it's my go to jacket off the bike. Ver well put together and I like the fit.

I'm about to return my Strada 1200 as it just keeps cutting out. I wouldn't trust the charge % displayed or the run time until you've used it for a while. I'd recommend always having a back-up to hand in the short term.

    Race - Fuji Norcom Straight

I remember seeing you wrote that before, as with you I've been a bit of an Exposure fan so was surprised to hear that. I did wonder if the newer ones had a better beam pattern as I fear the old one may be dazzling for oncoming riders even when pointing down a bit and on dip. I'll stick with my old one then.

Good plan. I'm currently using my Mk5 and I'll continue for the foreseeable. Despite the fact the battery is showing it's age it still lasts longer than the 1200, and can accurately tell me when it needs charging.

  • Just picked up a pair of Assos T.Tiburu _S7 Bib shorts from Mud Dock in Bristol. £185 reduced to £75. Time to see if they're as comfy as fabled.

I had a Harrington few years back but it was just after my wee bump and I was being strange so I got rid of it, I’m hoping yours is a exeption? Or at least the 600 hasn’t the fault! It will get used every day after half term so I guess I’ll find out!
  • I bought this, will be a while before it comes.

Wasn't in a position to pick up anything on Black Friday unfortunately.

It's my first bit of Castelli kit and am in two minds about the fit. Went for a Medium and it's very snug! The arms if anything are a little bit too long but if I size up for a looser fit round the body the arms will be way too long. Is this to be expected?

Very nice commute or play? Or Both?
  • Play. Simplifies what the caadx gives me. Bit more clearance and better brakes. Need to sell that now.

Says Vitus Energie on the side so I'm going to say it's a Vitus Energie.

The url includes the words "Vitus Energie Apex 1x11 Cyclocross" which may also be a clue.

  • Yep, that's the boy. The cheapest of the range. There's a £1299 too which replaces Apex with Rival and, for the life of me, I can't see that's worth it.

    I could see the url......
  • Zipp 302 rear wheel, as I was annoyed at my Zuus rear. The front has never caused me an issue though and the profile is pretty much the same, so I'm now running 38mm front and 45mm back wheels. Nice hub noise, couldn't care less about dimples, and the brake track is excellent as carbon goes!

    Topeak Frontloader handlebar bag:
    https://www.topeak.com/global/en/produc ... rontloader
A mate is riding and bikepacking across Wales this summer, so I agreed to do some shakedown rides and overnight "test bikecamps" with him. This will hopefully be big enough to take my sleeping bag, etc. Already have the Backloader saddle pack and think it's good, so hopefully this'll be equally well thought out.

...Now I really must get on and convert the Arkose singlespeed to 1x11
Titus Silk Road Ti rigid 29er - Scott Solace 10 disc - Kinesis Crosslight Pro6 disc - Scott CR1 SL - Pinnacle Arkose X 650b - Pinnacle Arkose singlespeed - Specialized Singlecross...& an Ernie Ball Musicman Stingray 4 string...

MT800 bottom bracket, and a shimano hydraulic hose olive.
Former cos I'm pretty sure I shafted the one that came with the crankset, and the olive to bump me over the free delivery limit (and I like having spares)
