I hope it'll cover the 10-15 degree range I so despise. Too cold for my short sleeve stuff, but too warm for the Perfetto. I've got my reservations with the size, too. My perfetto is M and fits great, other than the tail is a tad narrow for my hips. We'll see...

That should do it, it looks great, but to be honest I don't think that range is hard to cover, at least in my experience.

The worst range for me is the 8C to 12C with some chilly wind. A bit too cold for the autumn stuff like the above and a bit too warm for my winter jackets.

The problem is I don't really have autumn clothing, and hoped this would help. Past tense. It was delivered this morning to my joy but, as feared, the cut is far from what I need. Shoulder width seems about right, but it's far too loose on the tummy, and doesn't look at all tight when on a sitting position. So back to CRC it goes :-(

I'll possibly go for a Perfetto light 2, and hint Mrs. Haggis about arm warmers for Xmas.

Shame, I mainly buy clothes from Gore Bike Wear because they fit me, so if Castelli fits you may be try and get an Alpha jersey as they seem to cover that range?

I recently bought, on a whim, a Passione winter jersey. Long-sleeved, roubaix lined, could be the sort of thing you're after. I've been wearing it for Kingston-London commuting recently, with no base, and it's been spot on (today was gabba day though).

    dhb-Aeron-Hybrid-Softshell-Cycling-Windproof-Jackets-Red-Dark-Red-AW17-TW0491RED-DARK-REDXS.jpg?w=2000&h=2000&a=7

Wiggle Aeron Hybrid softshell. What a lovely jacket, runs slightly cooler than the full protection softshell, very windproof and feels great on.

  • This rascal for the other half, a Kinesis AT tripster, got it from my LBS which makes it 6 from him now!
Addded a few bits inc a wheel upgrade and some cross bar brakes. The pedals are a temp thing whilst we decide on what she'll use. I'm not in the best of health at the minute ( nothing life threatening yet so no ones having my bikes !) so she's upped her game with taking out my lad and generally getting fitter.

And luckily it'll fit me as well!

Thanks for the link! Some of those look brilliant. I particularly liked the passione in red, as well as the non-fluoro yellow l/s jersey. How's yours for the rain? Ideally, I'd like to get something that has a degree of waterproofness.

I haven't worn it in the rain, but neither would I want to - it doesn't have much wind resistance, so rain would soak through pretty quickly I imagine.

The other option is the Stolen Goat Arkaan (which I haven't tried, but gets great reviews). It's supposed to be pretty water resistant. I nearly pulled the trigger on one, and probably will at some point because I have zero will power... Bit pricier though

    Yes, they look revolting.

BUT, they are merely for the turbo (Would not dream of wearing them in public), and will allow me to get shot of some now long in the tooth shorts I am still hanging on to.

    71QAMCIQRvL._SL1500_.jpg

Reviews are in the main excellent, and I have one Cannondale branded Sugoi jersey that seems very good quality, so hoping for good things from these.

They arrived, and on first impressions are bloody good, but just as, if not more hideous, than in the pictures.

The pad feels VERY good and firm, and the fit is race fit - the small I can squeeze myself into (Material is not that giving) and I am 63kg\5ft 10.
I would not say they are £120 shorts, but would suggest they are easily as good as most £80 shorts out there, so if you do see them for £33, and either are brave enough to wear them out and about, OR want some top quality turbo shorts, I would heartily recommend them - will update once they have been through a turbo session - likely tomorrow or Friday.

Wore them for a 90 minuter on the turbo last night, and they are spot on, right up there with my Rapha Core and La Passione Classic bibs in terms of both fit and pad comfort\firmness - the pad is also not too large.
Delighted with them for £33ish each, will keep them for the harder more intense workouts.

This review below is not too glowing with regards to quality (Wonder if they just had a dodgy pair), but I didn't feel any comfort issues with mine, quite the opposite, they effectively dissapeared, which being white you would want them to!

    http://road.cc/content/review/206507-sugoi-rse-bib-shorts

Amazon currently have them for a little over £60, so could be worth keeping an eye on if you want some turbo shorts, or are Adam Blythe.

Oh, FFS, I've had at least 8 fraudulent charges to my card after the Endura purchase a page or two ago. My bank dutifuly notified me, so the charges are suspended and the card has been deactivated. However, oh the joy, it's also the card on which I purchased the ill-fitting Endura Classic. CRC tell me the refund would be on that "card".

Have you ever had something like this happen to you? Did you manage to get the refund?

A new pair of Etxeondo Orhi bit shorts to go with the two pairs I have already. They are my favourite shorts, I rate them over my Castelli Free Aeros.

Thought I didn't need any shorts as I'd bought some dhb Aerons at the beginning of the summer. I wore them yesterday for the second time and I must say that choosing to make the chamois out of sandpaper and stuff it with rocks seems like a bit of a design flaw.

Dammit. Just ordered the last one (was pretty cold last night and this morning, right?!)....plus those Castelli overshoes listed by DB earlier.....

So this arrived today, together with the LG speedsuit thingy - all in Medium.
Oh and the Small Pave - which fits a treat which is good.

The Jacket is a thing of beauty, and smaller than I imagined, but still not a race fit on me by any means, which is fine, as I wanted something that was more casual - so initial impressions are amahzing, but will wait for the Spesh alternative to rock up tomorrow, and then make a decision back to back.

The speedsuit is also amahzing, and seems to fit very well - going to give it a test on the turbo tonight to make sure (As I bought two, so can send tuther one back if I'm not 100% happy) but initial impressions are excellent.

This is it, still a mega bargain at £81 https://www.evanscycles.com/louis-garneau-course-lgneer-skin-suit-EV292990
The medium fits me well, and I don't think I would want it any smaller - I am currently 64kg, 5ft 10, and they have sizes in stock from Large upwards, so would cater for plenty of people on here I reckon.

Yes, my "Pre-race insulator" jacket also arrived today. Snugger than expected (given supposed to be worn over other layers), but a nice close fit nonetheless. Can see it being a go to jacket when proper cold. Chuffed to see reflectives on the back too, as well as the standard three rear pockets, so ok for use on the bike, not just at the start line waiting for an event to kick-off!

Wore this for time today as cold and dry in Wilts (2-3 degrees), but windy. Primaloft panels to a great job of insulating whilst staying breathable. Super....bargain at £70 odd in recent Evans sale

Frustrating! You will still get your money back as the reference from the old card is still unique to you, and will just get transferred to the related bank account. (Assuming you are staying with your bank and they will be issuing you a new card).
