I was very close to doing this on my new build. Its a much better option than the junction under the stem. I prefer standard road bars to aero ones though and the Enve road bars dont have the appropriate holes yet.Mud - Genesis Vapour CCX

Exactly the same as I went for. Plain black the sensible choice.
Just hoping the fit is the same as my Sportful R&Ds which are a good fit for me in large.0 -
The XL are more expensive. However my practically unworn spare pair are in the classifieds for £65.My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

Won three brand new pairs of Oakley Jawbreaker on Friday. Which is nice.
Picked up a pair of second hand Planet X 50 tubs simply because they were too cheap to pass up. Not sure if I'll keep them or not. I'll have a spin out on them this week to see what I think.0 -
Found my rear light (Moon Shield) had packed in Friday night when I came to cycle home and as luck would have it I'd removed my back-up from my helmet so had to go to Evans for emergency purchase. Chose a Cateye Kinetic which looked ok, was rechargeable and more importantly actually had charge and didn't need batteries. Discovered this morning that unlike the other rechargeable lights I have the only way this Cateye can be charged is by taking it off the bike, meaning it's bound to get forgotten or the O ring it uses to mount is going to get lost at some point"Mummy Mummy, when will I grow up?"

Got myself some lightly used R550 SPD SL pedals to try after my look cleats were wearing too fast, and my MTB shoe/pedal combo was just a bit too flexy.
Seem pretty good so far. float is nicer than the looks, clip out is much more positive, even if the clip in isn't any better (but I am using toe warmers so might be better without)Saracen Tenet 3 - 2015 - Dead - Replaced with a Hack Frame

I bloody own this thread, I do.
Yesterday afternoon, once the insurance was confirmed (well, a bit before, actually):
R3SL frameset, 2008 vintage
Enve 2.0 Road fork
3T Arx Pro stem
3T Ergosum Pro bars
Deda Elementi bar tape
Chorus 11 brakes, ergos, FD, RD, chain, cassette (you can still find Chorus 10 carbon stuff new, but it's no cheaper than 11. Weird) plus cables & outers
SRAM blackbox ceramic GXP BB
Quarq DZero
Rotor OCP3 50/34 rings
Bora One 35 tubs (a-fucking-gain! That's the most painful bit about this. I hummed and harred the first time about spending so much on wheels, and now I'm fucking well doing it again).
Keywin carbon ti pedals
Pedal washers
ANT+ speed sensor
Hirame adaptor
Knock off carbon bottle cages
Some diddy Knog lights
Then limped home nursing a ruptured wallet trying hard not to think about what I could have left off the list to keep within "budget".0 -
Don't want to p!ss on your chips, but weren't you tempted to go for a frame that wasn't already nine years old?0

I bought this exact set few weeks ago. I really like them. My recent favourite purchase!0 -
Oh, for goodness sake, do TRY to keep up, Chasey.
The R5 frameset is 3300. So the finishing kit would have been made out of twigs and it would have had no wheels.
The R3 frameset is 2300 and not available until Jan. And the stack is higher than the R3SL but the reach is shorter and the chain stays are longer. So that’s a ginger stepchild, right there.
There was only one logical choice in the end.0 -
^There was an RCA frame on ebay last week for £1600, was sorely tempted myself0

Somewhat less expensive and swish than Greg’s bike build, bought some tyres.
Since my new commute to work though a decent bike path is liberally peppered with broken glass, and these well do the job!0 -

never mind that fact that any new Cervelo is entirely different beast post 2012 takeover, rumors were that any unsold R5 ended up repainted as R3 sold off then a new cheaper entire range produced to appeal to a wider audience.
Might be BS but for sure the new model are pretty different.
@DanB defo dont go looking at the new S3 model, you'll hate the colour scheme :roll:Rule #5 // Harden The Feck Up.

Frameset 3300
Whole bike with Ultegra 3400
https://www.swiftcycles.co.uk/6708/prod ... -bike.aspx
Edit: 3100 for a 54
https://www.chelmercycles.co.uk/m1b0s6p ... R5-Ultegra
Edit 2: Actually 3000
https://www.nrgcycles.co.uk/60461/produ ... y-red.aspx
Edit 3: Or 2800 if you're short
https://www.edinburghbicycle.com/cervel ... -2017.html
Then you could get a spare frame (obviously you have a spare frame already) and put the Ultegra on it, then maybe lock that bike outside the swimming pool instead of the Cervelo :roll:0 -

Sure, but I kinda meant looking beyond bike frames made for dentists...0 -
It's certainly red. And is that navy?

Ultegra?
How very dare you, sir!
So I buy a bike cover in junk, errr, Ultegra, then take the junk, errr, Ultegra and put it on a frame I don't have, use that, and leave the frame I actually want at home.
Run that one by me again...0 -

But it still would not have left enough over to buy the gruppo and wheels I actually want.
And, and seriously, let's not forget this, this bike is supposed to be my winter hack. I don't want to go mad on it.0 -

Well you could always save the Ultegra for the summer bike
