my advise would be keep that in your pocket not attached to the bike if you want it to work when you need it

Why? What's going to happen to it on the bike?

when they get wet and muddy the seals go and even a replacement seal kit doesnt fix it, so you end up with a pump that leaks, i wouldnt mind but i used mine once so quite an expensive roadside fix.

i've kept it mind you just incase

Unless you are going off road, is it really going to suffer any more on the bike than in your back pocket? Even on dry days, stuff in my pockets gets wet from sweat. Just checked and I have had this:

    565467?w=637&h=403

on my bike for 23 months now. Still works fine. Just make sure to mount it the way shown in the picture, so that water doesnt run down inside the handle and I dont see how water or mud would get inside.

I dont like stuff in my pockets unless absolutely necessary and then only soft things if possible (like food). I also like all the necessary maintenance stuff fixed to the bike so I dont have to remember to get it every time I go out. If it cant go on the bike and be reliable I would replace it with something that could.

I will probably be proved wrong and mine wont work when I need it next, now that I have said that... At least I have some CO2 as backup.

I'm the same. I keep all of my bike tools in a 750mm tool bottle. Yes, it takes up 1 of my 2 bottle spaces but I rarely go out for long enough to need one bottle of water, let alone two, but it's a lot easier to remove than a saddle bag, and I can very easily move it between bikes.
Intent on Cycling Commuting on a budget, but keep on breaking/crashing/finding nice stuff to buy.

    Aldi Merino Socks
    Aldi Tights.

Kept looking at the merino wind jersey, and even in sub zero temps last year when out for an hour, with a merino baselayer and LS autumn/winter jersey, I wasn't cold, so can't really justify it. Ditto the softs shell jacket, which I'd have probably grabbed if it wasn't straight up black.
I stocked up on leg warmers, arm warmers and gloves last year, so don't need those now.

Me too - although I upgraded from a tool bottle to one of these: https://roadcyclinguk.com/gear/topeak-c ... eview.html a while back - really good.

That looks really good, and saves the arsing around of pouring it all out to get to the spanner that's sunk to the bottom.
Shame it's not fully waterproof though :(
I don't worry about the inner tubes between bikes- those are bike specific so sit in a small saddle bag that's bolted to the seat post

These arrived today, bloomin nice, and very good quality - nice level of tint too.
Like them so much, that have just ordered another pair to leave in the car, as often I go out with no sunnies, and then have none with me :-(
This now means 8) instead :D

In theory, if TCB tracks, they will cost me the grand sum of £16.50, and I would say they are worth every penny of their £50 RRP. Come with a proper cloth case, and a high quality hard case too.

I would also add they are designed for small to medium sized faces - imho.

I like Tifosi - I have several pairs of their photocromic glasses. My favourites are these:

A pair of FWE guards from Evans from their clearance bin for £15, no packaging or nuts n bolts but as these were a replacement I already had all the fittings and from the NEC at the weekend 2x bike register stickers for the bikes.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

All for the Cervelo? You do move quickly. Kudos :D
  • Just got one of the Aldi merino long sleeve base layers. Seems decent enough for the price.

But think of the winter training you could do climbing cat4s or worse every day with that extra ballast... And then next spring ascend up there like a rocket without the lock!

It's the same stuff as I have at home in our garden room. Seven bikes chained together with 6 metres of 14mm link chain. Half of it is hung from wall brackets and half hangs from climbing ropes secured in the joists. Weighs an absolute ton. I got it from a locksmith, who claimed that he had gone through three grinding wheels trying to cut through a link.

it's only as string as its weakest point though, which is the D Lock that comes with it. I have a spare padlock at home which the locksmith sold me and which is supposed to be impregnable, but it weighs roughly a kilo on its own, so I'm not hefting that around.

I think this chain will live on the bike rack where I swim...

  • Frankly, with 3k of insurance from teh lock maker and the household insurance I have, if they can get through it, fine. At least next I will be covered fully.

Though feck me the time it takes to hunt down all the bits and pieces and find the best prices is unreal.

  • Also: just messaged her. She was using the chain with 7mm links. Not 14mm links. So that should mean they will take twice as long, right?

Do you guys not find these a bit itchy and scratchy? I did so relegated the 2 i got last year to less sweaty snowboarding use.

Still using smoother under armour like synthetics.
