Ta for that, now out of stock as was an ebay seller who also had it for the same price. Guess it will be £50 for the forseeable future!

• From Merlin (to hopefully make 30+ mile rides less painful on backside and improve my top options after partially damaging my my nice Endura top in my "man down" incident on Friday)...
2x Lusso Linea short sleeve jerseys (red/lime) £19 each
Funkier Active 14 Panel Gel Shorts £40.50 (saw similar on Amazon for ~£37 but wasn't sure it was Active model)

Was only a 30-miler yesterday, but the shorts seemed a good buy, nice thick padding.

The shirts are a bit of an odd fit on me, I did "large" based on reviews saying go one size bigger. The yellow one is a good fit on my arms/shoulders/chest, but a little baggy on my stomach and waist. Will keep as not massively baggy and who knows if the new lighter/slimline me will survive the winter!;)

Probably do not really have a need for this but I do love the colour, and it is the convertible one.

Already have an old school Gabba ls in Cannondale colours, but this for a smidge over £100 I was too tempted by.

I'm currently tempted by a Perfetto SS light in Anthracite for 76 quid. Already have one in "can be seen from space" flouro, but prefer the more understated colourway of the Anthracite. Therefore, ultimately needless purchase so trying hard to resist....sell one, buy the other?

Just bought one of these as my winter bike:

CBPXLDNRIV_P1.jpg

Hydraulic brakes, wide tyres, 1x gearing and a great colour. And I can fit full length guards and possible a rack of some kind.

It's marked as "In Stock" so hopefully the delay won't be too long before it arrives.

Damn you DB. Forgot CRC had given me a £5 goodwill voucher a while back (which I forgot to use on the purchase of the bargainous Sportful Fiandre tights the other day). Therefore, got the Perfetto short sleeve in Anthracite for a touch over £70 quid, as I was able to combine that with the WHSE2017 code. At least I know I'll wear it loads due to the colourway. Time to offload some old kit to balance the books I think! Reckon I'm more than all set for Autumn/Winter now...bring it on... :)

Top tip, save yourself the trouble of setting your turbo up by picking it up from Evans then walking a mile back to work and therefore getting a good strength and cardio session

It's a weapon of some magnitude, you will learn to love it and hate it simultaneously, but more the former.

1 mile, bloody hell - fair play.

I have made the first rice cake recipe. Easy and fun to make. First tasting may be a tad bland for me, I like spicy stuff, but when hungry on the bike should be fine. Got a ride planned for tomorrow, so will see how they go!

Ale kit rocks, great fit (for me) jersey wise anyway, not tried shorts. Quality is superb.

Yeah, I also own a PRR Bering jacket and some PRR Agonista bib shorts. All superb kit.

The fit is rather "Italian" though, I'm a medium in every other brand I've tried but definitely a large in Alé world.

I love the over the top colours too. I figure if I'm going to look a bit of a dick in tight cycling gear I may as well be a big one

A couple of things I've picked up recently...

Chttp://www.wiggle.co.uk/craft-active-e ... 0305ukraft Active Extreme base layer
As reviewed on Bender's site. A nice base layer which I'm sure will give some good service over the winter. I was rather hoping I might be able to use it on chilly (but not cold) mornings under a short sleeved jersey rather than faffing around with arm warmers. Unfortunately the sleeves are a bit loose fitting for that, and they also seem to ride up from my wrists an inch or two so not ideal.

I should say that I also have the short sleeved version with the Windstopper front which is excellent and provides a huge temperature range when used in conjunction with a normal short sleeved jersey and arm warmers.

https://www.pactimo.co.uk/collections/m ... hts-mens-1
I also got some of the Pactimo 3/4 length tights. As with the Pactimo bib shorts, these are really excellent. Lovely soft material with a superb pad and fit. I've now convinced myself that it's probably not worth bothering with any other brands for shorts and tights as the fit of the Pactimo stuff just seems to work for my tall, lanky physique and the quality is at least the equal of any other brands I've seen.

Nice Jersey.

Here's the ride

https://www.strava.com/activities/1172672941

I'm very slow, and was concentrating on endurance distance. Eat a rice cake 2.5hrs in and boy was it good! In the open air and opened, and eat on the bike (serious scientific test...) very happy with the result. A 500g sticky rice pack makes loads, I've got plenty left in the fridge. I will make smaller portions next time, for ease into jersey pocket and for eating more frequently. I was being a pig and made too big a packet.

The first recipe in the book is 'Denver Rice Cakes'. Ham, peppers, onion, cheese, mixed with egg. Could probably be improved with your fav herbs or spice. But recipes very easy to customise.

Give it a try. Easy, fun and cheaper than shop bought stuff.
