Anti-seize should be used on stuff with screw thread to stop galvanic welding and the like (ie on steel bolts/pedals going into aluminum cranks) - it is not really made to go on components being clamped unless you are worried that it may rust together. You can use assembly paste for that but shouldn't need to unless component is carbon and you have a low torque limit on the bolts

Yep, I think it's actually the stem bolts that are creaking, so started there and it appears to have got to the bottom of the problem.
I asked the shop for a tube of shimano assembly paste, but they didn't have that and recommended that instead as it was in store and cheap.
I think the confusion is that shimano call their assembly paste "anti seize" and it can be used for both; therefore while looking for alternatives normal "anti sieze" comes up.

Sounds like you do not grease bolts properly on assembly! The above makes much more sense - and PTFE anti-seize could be thought of as super long term grease as long as the particulate bit hangs around. The idea of copper anti-seize is that even once the grease portion has been washed out/degraded that you a left with thin layer of copper between the two surfaces which stops binding; being left with a thin layer of teflon sounds even better

Quite possibly. I regreased the bolts a few months ago with some weldite TF2 grease as that's all I had, and loosen and re-torque them monthly in the cross pattern.
Aye, I was quite surprised with the Teflon based anti-seize, especially it was cheaper than the copper stuff when it's meant to be almost twice the price.

Have been keen to try these longer shorts with the fleecy part to the knee for a while, but gather fit can be a bit Cinderella-like so half expecting a swift return...we'll see. If they do fit, they should compliment the Potenza jersey nicely once it gets a little nippier.

The Omloops are going back to CRC. Went for medium given the various testimonials stating they sized up looser than other Castelli bibs (they don't! :( ). So, I normally take a large and these are too snug, but most disappointingly the fleece lower edge part covers my knee whereas it should fall just above. Obviously I have short legs. Shame as really wanted to like these, and large will be too long. CRC have since removed the previous discount too.

The Tempo mitts are ok, still slightly overpriced at 22 quid IMHO. Will probably keep, but get another pair of Rivelo Honister shorts instead of the Omloops.

These for £550. The Exalith braking really is amazing and is on par with my disc brake bikes I had recently. Not too harsh and of course they look the nuts!

    Haha.

I saw on twitter BR or CW advertising somewhere selling new Ultegra for £300 less than RRP. Had a click to see how much and nearly shat myself to see it's RRP is £1100, meaning £800.

Fark me, you could get 6800 for under £400 if you struck lucky (pre-brexit).

Come to think of it, pre brexit Dura-Ace used to be get table for not much more than £800.....and 8000 is heavier than 6800.

A new 6800 chainset as I finally convinced myself that I needed to go faux pro on my L'Etape. Undermined somewhat by also getting a new 11-28 cassette, but perhaps this means I will actually use the FD from time to time outside the alps.

 Still considering the titanium clavicle upgrade: the OEM carbon-based component is decidedly worse for wear.

Bibs are fantastic, buying a second pair! Very good quality (better than Rapha) and half the price.

    No idea - I got the code from here: https://www.vouchercodes.co.uk/halfords ... rc=4868806

It says it was posted on 17th August but not when it expires.

I did a click and collect last night along with a Feedback Rakk bike stand and it says the order will be ready for collection from friday and they will keep it until monday - so something like that might buy you a few days grace.
