25c on the front makes sense even if you cant 25 the rear just because you're going to be taking a lot of road buzz through the frontend, i did two long rides back to back last weekend over shite roads and i was knackered from that more than the distance or climbing, mind you i'm now in the process of swapping out 3T finishing kit for Zipp, which is heavier but more comfortable over the frankly shocking state of our roads.
Mmm, might try a 27mm Pave on the front then, to go with the 25mm on the back. You're right about the roads....

Mind you, went out on my single speed graveller couple of weekends ago for first time in a while. Ignoring the one bit at the start where I physically couldn't get past a pile of commercial fly tipping when picking up the bridleway at Castle Combe  , it then became apparent that someone (I.e. council or landowner) had chosen to "restore" the surface of a once very rideable, if not largely potholed, bridleway a little further down the route with mahoosive, black boulder-type gravel. Met a couple of horse riders coming the other way who also complained it wasn't great for their horses. Dog walkers would struggle to. The only beneficiaries would be 4x4s which I'd thought they'd been trying to curtail (due to the scale of previous pothole damage). For all other leisure activities it's completely unsuitable, and now makes a significant chunk of the route unrideable, even with my 40mm tubeless tyres at low pressures  I had previously been able to get from Castle Combe to Kemble airfield (and beyond) using the old Roman road/bridleways almost entirely off-road before this, but now fear they've completely ruined it :(

CaadX 105 - Test ride ...smile ...buy! :)

This bike is super fun, the shifting is slick, the riding position is comfortable, easy access to the brakes on the hoods is a big bonus. I can now do some cheeky woods riding on my commute!

The only thing that sucks are the pedals...seriously cannot pedal on flats anymore, it was a struggle to get this thing home haha...will fettle tonight and switch them out :)

They're ace. I did 13 1/2 miles off road and green laning today. 38c tyres. Lovely

  • One best Chinese ANT+ speed sensor (it does Bluetooth too, but that's immaterial) for the turbo bike.

Yes, no problem will do. I have this redbubble T shirt selling thing, so usually buy bike bits with the proceeds. Reviews look really good, and I am not keen on the chemical taste of mass produced stuff.

A pair of GP4Seasons from ProBikeKit for £33.25 each, put the last spare on the bike in the week so needed a spare just in case.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

Good spot, ta, just ordered 3 for turbo use in some random colour, and 3 for the missus in shocking pink.
Bizarre you have to raise them as seperate orders though - if they end up sending them in two different parcels, that's needlessly costing them money.

One of these, plus a pair of their red socks to go with it. An extra 10% off the sale prices if you sign up to their mailing list.

Also ordered one of the aforementioned Chapeau jerseys as a present for a family member's birthday next month.

Also one of these for the garage.
  • A Pefetto 2 light (SS) jersey. Following on from my previous review, for a 39 chest and 36 waist I have now purchased the XXL. Said to be for a 43 1/2 chest.

    It's spot on now.

La Pash jersey turned up. Remarkably quick delivery from Italy.

It's a keeper. Lovely soft, silky material and bold, bright colour.

The sleeves are nice and long although a tiny bit loose round my puny upper arms and around the shoulders. I don't think it will be noticeable though in the on-bike position. I don't think I'd be able to get away with a smaller size.

No zipped pocket which is always a negative point but otherwise very nice.

Be interested to know what you make of the fit of that - the jersey not the workbench.
They didn't really work for my physique, such as it is, too much material around the chest and under the arms.

EDIT: LOL, wrote this having not seen your reply 4 minutes earlier
    Not just me then.
I wasn't happy with the fit, so took advantage of their free returns.

I agree the arms are longer and doesn't seem as tight around the waist as the other La Passione jersey I bought last year.

The bibs are also longer in the leg, went down to my knee but are ok once on the bike. A zipped pocket would be good.
