Thats useful to know - I had assumed that the inner width would have changed too.
So my old 6750 chainset that I bought new for an old bike and never used due to the bike being written off and replaced with an 11 speed would work?
Yes I believe so
Found the articleChain width, as defined by standard methods of measuring chains, is 3/32-inch on all bicycle derailleur chains. But this is NOT the “width” people are talking about when they say, “an 11-speed chain is narrower than a 10-speed (or 9-speed or 8-speed, etc.) chain.” Yes, chains have gotten narrower as the number of rear cogs has increased in bicycle drivetrains, BUT it is only the outside width dimension that has decreased, and really, we are actually describing the length of the roller pins, which is shorter on 11-speed chains than on 10-speed chains.

But surely if the length of the pins is reduced and the with of the plates stays the same, this will reduce the inner width aswell as the outer width. The pin isnt/wasnt any wider than the widest part of the plates.
To reduce the outer width without affecting the inner width, the only way to do that would be by narrowing the outer plate (but not the inner plate) along with the pin.
[Edit] - OK, I read the article you linked to. This says that pins used to extend outside the width of the plates. I didnt think that was the case - the amount they extend must be minimal.0 -
One of these, mostly to make us more visible when I'm towing my daughter to big school come september, but might also don it for early Sunday rides in the depths of winter.
Bought a blue one for my gf last winter, and it's bloody good, and now they have brought out higher vis versions, I went for a lime green one, the yellow was a bit too custardy, and not vibrant enough to my eye.
And this is exquisite

hanger alignment tool, recently had to take the Scott to the LBS because it just wouldnt index, sure enough bent hanger even though it looked straight to me.
the difference now when riding is night and day, silent positive shifting every time just like it used to be, in fact i think its been bent for so long i'd forgotten what normal gears should be like.

First cycling purchase for a while.
Some DHB aeron bib shorts with my Father's Day cash! Apparently I'm difficult to buy for!

A puncture repair kit from Sainsbury's (I know - check me out). Left all my bike repair stuff at the other places I'm living and it seems irresponsible to head out on a ride with no repair stuff.ROAD < Scott Foil HMX Di2, Volagi Liscio Di2, Jamis Renegade Elite Di2, Cube Reaction Race > ROUGH0

Aberdeen_lune wrote:My Cannondale frame instructions states a hanger alignment tool should not be used while the hanger is attached to the frame. That kind of put me off purchasing one.
Ha - so Cannondale think you should align the hanger off the bike? That's a neat trick.
I had an issue, I thought, with the hanger on my Foil and just bought a new hanger. Ever since the hanger broke on my Boardman and only a tweet to Chris himself managed to source one, I've thought it's a good idea to carry a spare. I also have the Park alignment tool though I can currently guarantee that the bike and the tool will never be in the same place when required. I'm so looking forward to having one home (rather than 3)ROAD < Scott Foil HMX Di2, Volagi Liscio Di2, Jamis Renegade Elite Di2, Cube Reaction Race > ROUGH0 -

Can you, please, point me to the source of cycling girlfriends, my credit card is ready.
Ah apologies, I converted mine to cycling by buying her two bikes after we got together (17 years ago), but I imagine your local cycling club, and or Strava might be the best place to start looking these days!Felt F70 05 (Turbo)

Wouldn't these gills wear the shorts quicker? Seems sweet saddle, otherwise0

I haven't been riding mine for that long, and only one ride on Core shorts so far, but no notable wear on my other bib shorts - LP, Etxeondo, Craft, that I have noticed.
It is a work of art though.
Worth noting, that if you like your ICS clip bags, this saddle has no docking point for one.
As for the LS Rapha jersey above, it's very nice, but also £150!

The Bad Boy is getting a big redesign this coming model year, too. Old models might well be getting serious discounts. I miss my old disc Bad Boy, stolen a few years back. It was a cracking little bus.0

Not to mention challenges with guards (at both ends).
