My fault for going to an electric bike specialist for chamois cream (it was on my route) but they only had Endura which I've never even heard of before for this product and, at a tenner for a small tube, stupidly expensive. Hope it's good because my butt is tender these days.
I thought you were going to say that all they had was electrical contact paste. :D

I'll be honest, I like the look of a traditional frame too - but this is for racing, and aero frames are just faster. I wasn't convinced initially, but the first time I rode my Venge three years ago it was like a night and day difference - especially when you're above about 22/23mph. Feels like free speed!

Good job I didn't go to a carbon bike specialist: might have ended up with carbon assembly paste

It doesn't help that I only have my winter bib shorts with me so things get pretty warm. It's a measure of the stress with which I had to pack to come back to Cambridge that I forget lots of bike stuff.

    A Garmin 705 battery from all-batteries.
Tested my garmin with the battery from a friends one, all works, confirming it's a battery problem - happy days.

(and some more sugru for the broken screw holder on the back)

Use something non-conductive to push the connector from the battery onto the circuit board, a 'friend' used a screwdriver and created a spark and shorted the unit so sent it back to Garmin for a warranty replacement after reassembling and touching up the screws with a marker pen.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

    Couple of Ebay bargains...

A fatbike front hub that cost more in postage that the winning bid!
2x unused 28mm Continental Grandsport Race for a few quid more than a brand new tyre, quite impressed with the 25mm that came on the Cube, the 28mm can fit on the Cube but bought them to put on the Wazoo 29er wheelset (for more weight savings and a more aero profile ;) ).

Some Assos S7 Neo Pro bibs. My first pair of Assos bibs. The lilac pad made me wonder whether they were the women's model but apparently not.

Comfy. Snug. Quite low cut at the front which may take some getting used to. The pad is certainly in the premier league of pads I've ridden.

Oh and some tubs (preparations are proceeding precisely as I had foreseen), valve extenders and Conti rim (snigger) cement (guffaw).

    From ebay:
Selle Italia Novus Superflow Endurance saddle (L3) with Ti rails. For the Solace - had got the cheaper manganese rail, normal "flow" model which is good but the plastic nose seems to catch my shorts - this Superflow model doesn't have the plastic nose but seems to be similar dimensions in all other respects. Hopefully it'll be as, if not more, comfortable...

Sram Apex front mech. Got the winter bike out for a clean last weekend, and the front shifting was pitiful. Now remember that last ride out on it I had the first and last mechanical on that bike - chain wedged in front mech after a mis-shift. Think the cage had got bent as a consequence of releasing the chain. £15 inc postage, job done...
Titus Silk Road Ti rigid 29er - Scott Solace 10 disc - Kinesis Crosslight Pro6 disc - Scott CR1 SL - Pinnacle Arkose X 650b - Pinnacle Arkose singlespeed - Specialized Singlecross...& an Ernie Ball Musicman Stingray 4 string...

Get onto CS in Spearfish by email. Chances are they will tell you where it can be repaired. Or replaced if in the two year(?) warranty.

Just bought a Camelbak Podium water bottle from wiggle, very impressed with it, what has life come to that the difference a water bottle makes can cheer me up.

Also got a new set of Deda road handlebars to replace the standard FSA ones on my F85 and another set of Lizard Skin bar tape. Oh and new campag BB torque cups. Going to get some new brake pads put in on Tuesday also.

*Not actually ordered these yet from LP, but very tempted, now they have free returns also - just holding out in the hope of a discount code (They used to always have one during the tour) - am an existing customer so can't use the 10% new punter code :-(

It's the only bottle I use now, nozzle can be pulled off to clean and have a Podium Chill on it's way from Wiggle along with a pair of bib shorts.

Valid point - worth the effort me thinks.

Discovered the podium about 6 years ago via the bargains thread, IIRC PBK were selling them at discount, nabbed 4 for something like £4.50 each - leagues ahead of any other water bottles out there imho.

Have since added to my collection, have three chills and one Ice bottle, and also some of the Rapha variants, which have the older style, but smaller nozzle (Which I prefer) purely because they came in the Chartreuse colour

I was surprised how good the bottle was in comparison. I never see the chill version, going to get the big chill option, good spit.

    Agreed about being leagues ahead.

Wahoo elemnt bolt. 17% discount at Wiggle, so £165,

Did it also qualify for the Wahoo £50 cashback you kindly told us about?

If not, weren't you tempted for ~£200 after cashback?

Great price regardless, cheaper than Chainreaction with British Cycling discount!

The Bolt doesn't. The Elemnt does. So I could have gone for the Elemnt bundle OR, in effect, got the Elemnt for £157 but would have had to buy a £5 computer, so £162. Same kind of money as the Bolt which, IMO, is a bit better looking.
