Tredz sir, there was a code for £5 off a £30 spend, which worked as I bought two.
If you spend over £100, you might be able to use their 15% code instead.

They're ok - I bought one c/w cable a couple of years ago from Amazon and leave it at work. You get a fair number of keys with it - I think I had four.
There's a "peg" on the shaft so that it can sit in a bracket on the bike, but this can be detached if you find it catching on the bike when you lock up (as I did).

Just ordered a Brooks Cambium C17 saddle. Been umming and arrighing for a while. I like the look of them, they're supposed to be comfy, but will it wear through my clothing in double quick time? Only time will tell.

Has your Scott arrived yet? If so, first impressions?

Also, curious question, what's the stack height of the FSA headset top-cap? (if you wouldn't mind measuring it for me...)

Pre-delivery advice received today, bike due to arrive tomorrow. Will measure up when it arrives and come back with 1st impressions over the weekend.

    Thanks, much appreciated!

I'm trying to work out if the front end is too high or not. The 52 frame has a shorter 145mm head tube, but the effective top tube on the 54 frame is a better fit for me..

Looks like the answer is 10mm, if that's the " top cap" you meant (it's a Ritchey headset, not FSA):
    20170429_155153_zpsro788qgu.jpg

    Thanks!!!

Just had a quick look through the manual. Scott say should have at least a 5mm spacer between the bottom of the stem and top of the headset top-cap. Luckily for me that's pretty much where I want the stem. Think they suggest no more than 5mm above it too, though I'll go with 10mm to give the option to raise the stem a touch if needed. Hope this helps a bit more..

Doesnt matter how much you have above it - the bike will never know. As long as it doesnt poke your eye out or look stupid. The stem clamps to the steerer and what sits above is irrelevant.

Not true with carbon steerer tubes unfortunately - I think it is generally advised that the expander bung sit within the steerer where the stem clamps - it then supports the steerer tube against the crushing forces of the stem.

This means that if you have more than a couple of spacers above the stem the bung probably isn't reaching as far into the tube as it ought.

Ah - good point, hadnt thought of that - used to star nut type etc.

Still you could achieve that with a longer bung I guess, if you can get one (and if you wanted to bother) - maybe something like: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/coln ... -prod70234 at 90mm long?

Is that because you rarely spend any money on bike kit so, on the rare occasion that you do, you want the best quality?:lol:

You may jest, but I try to be good, but whenever I do spend I want it to still be good vfm, to me, very personal I appreciate :D
These will be the most expensive pair of shorts I have ever bought, so I just hope they live up to the hype.

But disappointed all that lovely Chartreuse will be hidden

@Spayspaddy - that's good to hear, reviews on there seem to suggest it's a mild improvement on the original.

New shoes as my old road shoes had finally popped too many seams:

CX 332s. Made out of delicious kangaroo. Claims to be a narrow toe box, but doesn't seem to be borne out at all with my hugely wide non-aero feet.

That's good. I'm using mine a bit now as I'm tied to Miss MRS. The ability to use it with no power source is great - I'm out in the summer house with iPad running the app.

I'm surprised you aren't in the Diamond President's VIP Circle or whatever they might call people way above everybody else with your orders being deliver with 1kg of handmade Belgian Chocs :D

I am also prety much tied to home, though for different reasons I appreciate (Childcare and working from home), so am on the turbo currently Monday - Friday - three evenings, and two sessions during the day.
Then if I have any energy left will get out at the weekend!

Ahaha, well I am glad that does not happen with Wiggle, as I am desperately trying, and mostly succeeding not to eat bad things now! 1 Stone shifted so far, looking to continue, but getting more tricky as you might imagine.
Luckily I am not a haribo fan, keep those for my nephew who is - he does get quite a lot of bags as you may well imagine.......

    That's a monster deal!
The paint job does nothing for me personally, but spec wise it rocks,
I hope you went through topcashback or similar for some cashback?
Would net you about £28 which is better than a poke in the eye with a stick.
Hydraulics for under a grand is a VERY rare beast indeed, in the post referendum world we live in - not sure we'll be back under the 1K mark for a long time, if ever - well unless there is monster discount like this I guess.
I notice it mentions 9kg for weight - is that a tad heavy?
Doesn't mention on what size frame that is, but would assume a 54 or a 56, seems to be what most companies use.
Maybe the wheels are, umm, sturdy!
Enjoy when it arrives, and pics of course please :D

Bike Discount has the weight of the wheels as approx 1920g for the pair. Which sounds about right as roughly on par with the Fulcrum Racing Sport db wheels that came with my bike. So deffo a bit to be saved there. But not suggesting Nitrous Oxide spends any more money just yet!

being delivered to my local inPost locker

Did that with my Decathlon 'chain whip', it took 15 seconds from scanning the QR code to the locker opening. It would have been quicker but I held my phone too close to the screen. Looked at using Asda but that would have meant possibly locking my bike up etc, the Inpost locker location I used was right on my commute to/from work.

Never used one before, but I doubt they're any different in operation & concept to the ParcelMotel ones I've used in Ireland (usually to send excess baggage home instead of traipsing through the airport at either end with it - and considerably cheaper per kilogram)
