One of these for either £113, or £108 if TCB cashback goes through, which I suspect it will not do - instead of the RRP of £230
I notice L2R is quite a fan, and as it was less than half price, as well as being black, yellow and grey, I was kinda forced into it.Felt F70 05 (Turbo)

I'm sure their not ideal, but seem a reasonable if basic set of unpadded leggings for the colder days, as will wear them with 3/4 padded shorts underneath & a baggy MTB short on top.
Just seen that I could have got 3 pairs of padded winter tights form decathlon for this price. Hmm, do I cancel?
These have arrived. Really like them, thicker than i expected, which is a good thing considering I want them for winter riding. Loads of reviews implied they were baggy in places,, but it's not something i have a problem with.
Heading out to DC next week, will have look what they have got, but think i'll probably keep em.Intent on Cycling Commuting on a budget, but keep on breaking/crashing/finding nice stuff to buy.

Yes, still very happy with mine (used again yesterday given the fog and drizzle, and likely again today even though temperatures have climbed well above freezing). I think the trick with the Event fabric is to wash it often to keep the fabric clean - dirt and sweat can clog the pores in the fabric apparently. That's good to know L2R, it was from pbk who seem to have it in all sizes, and looks like the cashback has tracked this time, 1st time in the last 3 attempts.
Thanks for the washing tips.Felt F70 05 (Turbo)

Wow, that is some awful design! You would have to pay me to wear that thing :-) You guys are brave!
On another note,
I bought some Conti 4 Seasons in the not so common 32mm size from Rose (best price). I wish there were more road oriented clincher tyres available.
And a KMC X11 EL chain, a Park Tools chain link pliers and some bar tape from Sigma Sport.x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x

Its for my Jamis Renegade, I was riding Vittoria Hypers but after a bit more than a 1k miles they are quite cut up (had 2 punctures in quick succession) and the grip is very suspect in the wet (I have lost the back wheel in more than one occasion) so decided not to compromise. They are amazing in the dry though, they are nearly as fast as GP4000SII, or at least they feel as fast as those.x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x

32's not all that big. My Kojak are 37! Don't really feel any weight penalty.
The GP4S 32c aren't just rare, they're new as I recall. My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

I used to think that too, but the 32c GP 4 Seasons are 320g for the 32mm compared to 240g for the 25mm. Overall is around 200g more for the 2 wheels, including the extra weight for the inner tubes. Not huge but there is a difference of course. The Vittoria's are really really quick, and very comfortable, they just don't stand well the cold weather.
It is a shame that neither of the major UK retailers are stocking the 32s though. It would be good if we could get GP4000SII and other racing tyres in these bigger sizes.x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x

A Met Elfo and a Bell Bellisimo from Wiggle to try on my 3 year old daughter who is now riding an Islabikes Cnoc 16. Went to the local Rutland Cycling and was a bit of a disaster with very little stock and very expensive.x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x

I did run Vittoria Rando PRO 32 and they were fine, but I hated the Vittoria Voyager Hyper 37, especially 'cause I couldn't really run them tubeless and between tyre and tube it was a fair chunk of weight to bring up to speed. I think as you go over 32-33 mm there seems to be more drawbacks than advantages... unless of course you are riding on rocks and rootsleft the forum March 20230

Lovely!!!
I've had my Kickr Snap since Christmas and bloody love this thing, so good!
May upgrade to one of these in the future for ease of use and not needing a separate turbo tyre (faff).
In other news, I bought this yesterday so I can use all my Garmin sensors with Zwift on my iPad:

Aren't the Randonneur Pro and the Hyper the same tyre? I thought they were. The problem with these tyres is that they come up quite big so my 32s were more like a 35.
On another note, I have bought the following from Wiggle (I am becoming the new Daniel!):
Another long sleeve Cycology long sleeve t-shirt. The DNA one this time.
Some Womens SealSkins multi-purpose winter gloves for the wife.
A Muc-off sponge.x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x

The Pro's have a thicker tyre tread so more P** resistant, the rest of the carcase is similar, 32mm Pro measures 30mm on my rims, the 32mm Hyper measures 34mm0 -

The bike that's on the Kickr costs less than the Kickr. The frame lives on the Kickr, never sees the road. £70 Dolan Prefissio frame, 105 rear mech and a crap front wheel with a broken spoke.
The bikes that see the road have never seen the turbo. They don't even know it exists, they're on another floor. They're continually wowed by my consistently mediocre power output despite the meagre attention they receive.0 -
A Hiplok original in black/green from Evans for a bargainous £33. It was the last one before anyone goes looking.

ITB is correct, Rule 25 is quite clear on these matters, the bikes on top of your car should be worth more than the car itself (the theory being that assuming fixed resources, the highest and best use of money is for spending on bikes, and you should invest only so much in your car as is necessary to transport you to the next ride). I get around that by not owning a car at all.
But anyway, it is as dhope said, although not quite so extreme. The 2013 entry level caadx that sits on the turbo is a perfectly capable winter bike, but it was pretty cheap even when new. My dolans can see the turbo set up from their lofty perches in my office/shed/turbo room, I like to think the implied threat keeps them in line.0 -
