24 bottles to a traditional crate of beer, so they are half cases.

  • I was in Ilmington last sunday and had a pint of "Purity" bunny hop... it's a local brewery in the Midlands... it does taste as if it was fermented hops, with no grain... interesting, but I won't be having another one

Tomorrow I'll have a bloke night in with take away chicken Jalfreezi... and most likely a mass produced Cobra

6800 bottom bracket to replace the one I've just fitted to the bike after today's ride issue.

    9.95 at merlin.

Does everyone else have almost a full drive train in the spares bin, or is it just me? Only thing I'm missing is a spare crankset and brifters.

I have a full spare drive train apart from brifters - and a further spare set excluding brifters (but short of a big ring) and some other additional drivetrain related stuff (spare rear derailleur, couple of extra BBs, chains, cassettes, various chain rings, ...)

My plan is always to have the "normal" spares to hand - then when I use them, replace the "stock" in a non-panic fashion (ie. when they're on some sort of offer and not "OMGzzzz!!!!!111eleven I need to get back on the road! You want HOW MUCH for a chain/cassette????!!!" panic mode)

Yes mate, up the following day. Who knows how much they will be tomorrow.
If you can wait, I'll give you my.impression when they arrive. I'm expecting not very much, ie cheap plasticky panniers, so can't see how I can be dissapointed - well unless I am unable to mount them to avoid heel strike.

My order has been 'in picking' for 3 days now, guessing it will be after christmas now.
Tell a lie, it now states order complete.
No e-mail though, but in the past I receive the despatch e-mail after I receive the order.

Yes, please. Would be good to know if they're any good, I definitely like the look. No chance of me paying more than £15 for them now I know how much they were. Need that camelizer thing for planet x.

No worries pb. I had a despatch e-mail earlier this evening, so went to check the tracking, to see where it was in the journey, to discover it was delivered to my work this morning

I was off today, but will be in tomorrow to collect.

With tidying, cleaning, decorating and drinking needs I may well not get to investigate, and fit them until after Christmas. But as you say, and I am the same, I can't buy something for £X when I know it has been available for less.
Most irritating one for me, was when they had their £100 toolkit for £10! Whilst I hunted around for other items, it went up to £50, even though it was in my basket

Just a comment on how well made they are will do. Something that cheap might, literally, fall apart at the seams pretty quick.

I've not had stuff change in basket but seen things I've bought go up in price and discount % a day later. I had to use a calculator to check if I'd been ripped off (I hadn't, fortunately). It's a shambles and makes me not want to buy from them.

Had a quick mosey at them today, no way are they worth the RRP - pretty thin by all accounts, hooks at the top are riveted on, and immovable, ie no rail, but then you probably expected that.
Inner side has a hard board in there, and there is also a reflective strip on the back.
It's shaped not square, I assume to try and accommodate ones heel, but not going to get to test that until Christmas eve at the very earliest.

Are they worth £15 - yes I reckon so - are they worth £25, hmmm, would probably still be happy with them for that amount.
They are a bit smaller than I expected, probably more front pannier sized if you get my drift.

Oh and also the hooks at the top, have a sprung bit underneath, so when they clamp on, you would have to flex it out before you could get them off, not sure if it is designed as one you just put on the rack and never take off or not.

Wasn't happy with the locks, so will be sending all 2.8KG of them back.

I bought a Synthe, in MIPS flavour. And because it was a different colour to my Jawbreakers I have to sell my Jawbreakers (having bought new ones).

    Specifically, this colour, Dan B!

A blf348 torch for the emergency toolkit .

Nice. I ordered about 8 of them in total. With 1400 lumens on the main bike light, a few extra on the blinky (has solid light modes too), then 500 on the keyring light it may be a touch overkill in my toolkit - but perfect for the missus toolkit.

Haha, I got 2 from Batch 2 in strategic places around my house & another 2 at the in-laws house, plus one in the car, i've got a LED Lenser K2 on the keyring, but don't get on with the twisty on/off control, so happy to swap it out.
    Although 500 lumens from the 348?? It's about 50lm on a AA isn't it?

  • My keyring light is currently a Jetbeam Jet II MK. Twisty too but one of the best twisty's I've come across; although I'm half tempted to chuck my Klarus Mi7 (700 odd lumens) on there instead as whilst the output is similar it's a sideswitch with a clever lockout system and is one of my most used lights.

But output on my 348's is a bit higher - up to about 200 lumens on li-ion. I'm using a mix of LiFePO4 and Li-ion 10440's; the LiFePO4's seem to be a happy medium between output, runtime and heat (running li-ion they get seriously hot after a minute or so, and don't last long.) Noticeable step up in brightness from Eneloops. Lovely, lovely little lights though.

I've got a Garmin Forerunner 235 coming today for lunchtime runs and off roading.

Will still use my Edge 810 for commuting and proper road rides, but this will save the faff of trying to figure out why my cadence sensor isn't working on a monday morning.

Plus it will replace my Pebble as my everyday watch.

I've got the 230, I think yours will have the in built heart monitor? Mine doesn't. It's very good, weighs bugger all, actually it feels like it's empty!
I use it for running, commuting and mtb/road rides. I'm not against proper GPS systems but only tend to go up to 60 miles these days so don't need mapping. That said I've used it on three 100 mile sportives and it had plenty of battery life at the end. V quick to charge as well.
    Well recommended.

That's a relief to be honest I've been umming and ahhing about sending it back and getting a Vivoactive HR instead but it's too ugly.

Looking forward to sorting it out tonight.

+1. Got my 230 just before Christmas (pressie to myself) and well impressed so far, especially with battery life. Was initially a little disappointed in the screen when viewed indoors but then realised was light reactive, and it's great outdoors. Have updated the firmware, installed various watch faces and widgets and it's been very simple to use V happy.
