The start of me collecting a groupset and other bits to roadify my Spesh Sirrus Hybrid

    Ultegra 10-Speed STIs
    Ultegra Band-On Double FD
    Ultegra 10-Speed RD
    Scott Anatomic Bars
    Barrel Adjusters
    Ultegra 10-speed 11-25 cassette

Just need a chainset/BB, mini-Vs or Travel Agents, some finishing kit (cables/bartape/etc) and a weekend to learn how to put it all together - I have done most of the individual bits (except cabling up), but am using this as a bit of a project to figure it out. Any pointers/things to avoid will be much appreciated!!

Some lovely things you lot have bought lately, these past few pages.

    Upgraded to 20-speed!

Well, as we can all guess.. it's the same as a 9-speed cassette with an extra click eh? Only difference is that my chain skates when I switch to the small chainring, so I need to get a 10-spd chainring :-( (Sheldon Brown did warn that might happen - half way down this page 'old chainrings, new chains')

It was my birthday at the end of March, and I got some bike related goodies :-)

    Castelli Aero Race jersey.

I got the black one, as pictured. Only tried it on and took it up the road, too cold at the moment. Can't wait though, proper roadie-jersey to replace my older PI / Cannondale MTB ones! It's race fit and I think it shall be comfy in summer.

    Suunto T3C heart rate monitor

Couldn't afford a Garmin 305 / 705 :-( so decided to get a decent HRM and add to it later (it supports ANT+, meaning you can add GPS, cadence, download to PC, trainer-thing for running etc)

Enjoying using it. Strap is comfortable, not got any interference so far. I think it'll be genuinely helpful as a training aid, which is nice. Has a wide variety of features but is pretty easy to use.

    GP4000s tyres
    HG50 cassette

and I thought buying a cheap set of RS20 wheels would be a means of saving money. Hopefully have them all installed before someone spots them!

UltraFire Cree C3 5-Mode Flashlight with 2xAA Extension Tube Bundle:
    https://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.7938

For £13 delivered (website has free international shipping) I'm very, very happy.

It's far too bright to use on the highest setting for London roads (others have reported that they tried but every car just flashed them to turn it down as it was dazzling).

Bought to use with the helmet cam. It's basically a cheap (but good) copy of the Fenix L2D at a fraction of the price.

Some Assos chamois cream. Still a way off affording the shorts.

I'm having second thoughts about the rack and pannier setup too. Might go back to backpack or get a courier bag not sure yet.

I know it's probably really obvious that it's going to happen, but I didn't realise and now my frame's all rubbed where the cables run.

You'd have thought the manufacturers would supply small pieces already attached, or perhaps the LBS would warn you about it. Sigh...

Sometimes they do. That's not to say, when you look at the pack you receive with your bike, you know what they are and what they're supposed to do

To be honest, most obvious places on my Viner already had some.
But after seeing what 2 months of commuting without them did to my gf's Sirrus, I thought I'd still make sure everywhere is covered.
