Just got back from the LBS yesterday with having the rear mech hangar straightened and the rear wheel re-tensioned all for £60 including new front disc pad.

  • I have just purchased a Boardman peformance hybrid Pro which I will be collecting tomorrow moring. I have put Contintental City Rides tyres on it and Club Roost bar grips.
  • After much deliberation and an alarmingly small number of clicks of the mouse, I have purchased a new commuter. I wanted something understated.

I can feel a more scenic and muddier commute coming on....

    Must resist the temptation!

I know. Pearlescent paint. Steel as well. Only available from Salsa with the complete bike.
    I gave in unto temptation.

Saddle looks like a chafing nightmare though and the seatpost is a Kalloy. I refuse to own anything that is made by Kalloy.

So my shiny new Dolan frame just arrived, perfectly boxed and bubble wrapped but it has a dent in the top tube, grrrrrrrrr

The dent is only slight but visible, esp to me, should I sent it back?

I have to say the frame is a work of art, stunning lines and all that.

Well....I got mine from Wiggle - which meant I probably paid too much. However, Italian flag bar tape is so last year....I now have "Stars 'n Stripes" bar tape, 2 rolls, one for the Boardman and one for the fixie.

XT shifters and rear mech for my SO's MTB.

Can I have a bit of a gear related rant? What is it with Shimano and packaging these days? :x

The shifters came in a fancy cardboard box big enough to get a chainset in. The mech wasn't much better.

To top it all off, Wiggle sent it in a box big enough for my 3yr old to sit in

The world's going to pot I tell you.

    And breeeeathe......
