Ooh, I've just got one of these! A quick nod to the boys at Parcelforce - when they saw that I wouldn't be able to cart it home on the back of my bike one of the lads stuck the box in the back of his car and followed me home!
Looks lovely...not taking it out for a while in this ice and mud though. Wheel bearings seem a bit rumbly :?- - - - - - - - - -

Jay-sus.
Even with my extensive palette to chose from, I wouldn't give that shelf space.
And I used to ride a Giant TCR that looked like the front end had fallen into a vat of pink paint!0 -
Hmm - I can't remember if Rob, Linds or Jen was evil enough to take a photo of me modelling the pink, but if so you can bet your bottom dollar it'll be made public soon...0

Bear in mind it's a 2nd-hand vintage jersey, not a new line. The long-sleeve one I bought seemed fine quality-wise - I'm spending between £1 and £10 on the jerseys though, and almost entirely cos they look pretty, so tbh I'm not too fussed about the quality. I have now bought 10 ( ) vintage jerseys off ebay and have been happy with all but one which was my fault as I didn't consider the sizing. Actually I might re-ebay it soon, and let you all know0 -
My latest two vintage purchases (for a grand total of £3.69 + p&p), for your entertainment:

I bought some Sugoi Wallaroo merino glove liners (in Flamingo pink) to go under my Altura Shield waterproof gloves, but this combo was sadly inadequate in the icy Essex lanes yesteray and I nearly cried with the pain (and the panic of not being able to brake properly with frozen fingers going down a hill).
So yesterday I came straight back and ordered some Lobsters.
I was supposed to not be spending so much on bike kit on 2009, but I have have already bought three thiings (also got a Park tool chain wear tool the other day, which should pay for itself if it saves on cassette wear). It never ends...0 -

Excellent!
Did you ever find a pink hi-vis? I'd be in the market for one of those...
You can get the tabards in hi vis pink at Ikea. Also a greeny colour too.0 -
Pink hi-viz is easy to find, I appear to have two
One is proper fluo hi-viz, and came from a horsey person on ebay (she is still selling them to my knowledge) as it is really for horse riders. Has reflective tape.
One is not quite fluo but still pretty bright pink with reflective bits - my PI whisper gilet. i use that more because it is more fitted.0 -

Oooooh they do a pink version of that PI gilet?
I have the yellow one... pink would be better!0 -

Sometimes Minx links won't link directly and just take you to the homepage, if it does that it is under Outerwear, then Vests.
I wore mine yesterday in the Essex lanes in the freezing mist, no near misses with drivers so I should hope they saw me!0 -
@ biondino - aieee it burns!
Sauntered up to the LBS yesterday and got myself a pair of these for when the sun comes back out to play...
Also haven't had a chance to wear this yet. It's the exact same as the very first "proper" top I had back in my yoof...

Now I have been naughty.
I took advantage of that Specialized 'Cross offer from Pearson Cycles which meant getting some extra spds, AND some full 'guards, AND a 16T sprocket , AND some Marathon Plus 25Cs. So its the first week of 2009 and I am ~ £350 out of pocket already. Mind you, it might persuade me to return to two-wheeled commuting.
Now, where are those lights...??Spring!

Bought a Halfords Hybrid Comp today to serve as a wet-weather ride for my 16 mile commute. £340 for an 18spd with disc brakes works for me, and at that price I could cope with having to fix the mistakes the Halfords boys made (no, disc brakes aren't supposed to rub like that).
Haven't posted in Commuting before, but I needed to tell someone
'09 Enigma Eclipse with SRAM.
'10 Tifosi CK7 Audax Classic with assorted bits for the wet weather
'08 Boardman Hybrid Comp for the very wet weather.0 -
That must be one of the 2008 Boardman hybrids is it Verloren ? If so they look pretty decent, make sure you get some pics posted0

I bought a new inner tube
And some stuff to clean the bike
And then I cleaned the bike
Get me!
Well actually mrlinsen bought the stuff, but I cleaned the steed - proper shiny nowEmerging from under a big black cloud. All help welcome0 -
It is, pud77 - I'm impressed so far, but was renovating a window most of the day so my test ride was 3 times around the car park I like the pretty stretched-out feel of it, much closer to a road bike than most hybrids.

MET Predatore Helmet - half price at Chain Reaction, XL to fit my big head :P

Mrs C asked why I was buying all this stuff when I plan to get a new bike later in the year. I told her that I was going to get another bike, not a replacement.0
